This documentary provides a deep look into the making of the first movie of the trilogy. Main actors and the director tell us how they came up with the idea for the movie, how and where the movie was filmed, and many other things, for example, why they went to a local morgue before the start of filming. Actors share their thoughts on the whole idea of re-animation and show us some interesting behind-the-scenes footage.
If you like the trilogy, this documentary is a must-see!
I agree with the previous reviewer, the Re-Animator needs a documentary much longer than that. There are so many things to show and stories to tell.

Re-Animator Resurrectus (2007)
**** (out of 4)
This sixty-six minute documentary takes a look at the making of RE-ANIMATOR. Director Stuart Gordon is joined by Bruce Abbott, Jeffrey Combs, Barbara Crampton, John Naulin and Brian Yunza as they discuss the production of the film and how this low-budget film ended up becoming a classic. If you're a fan of RE-ANIMATOR then there's no question that this here will be a must-see because all of the main people are here and there are countless great stories being told about the entire production. We start off hearing from Gordon about how the film got made and even how he got interested in films to begin with. From here the casting is covered, the special effects and of course the release of the movie. There are all sorts of great things discussed here but the highlight has to be the cast and crew talking about the ultra gory special effects. Of course, when you discuss the effects you have to discuss the oral sex scene and there are some funny stories told about that as well. I'm sure someone will eventually come along and make a much longer documentary but this one here is certainly a lot of fun and contains just about all you'd need to know.
