A far remote rural village with green fields. As Matto is responsible for the livelihood of his wife and two young daughters, he daily takes a long distance journey to the city to work as a construction labor. The most important asset of him is a bicycle that is heavily worn out after riding for two decades. One day, an accident occurs in which the bicycle is damaged so badly that it can no longer be used. It could be a minor problem to someone, but it leaves an irreparable wound to his circumstances. Will he be able to return to the life of feeling the little happiness of everyday life again.

Worthy of Oscar

This film is perfect. A treat for cinema lovers.

Actor Prakash Jha has overpowered his director image.

He has perfected the role of a daily wage laborer so well that you cannot imagine any other actor for this role. Reality cannot be closer than this movie.

It will move you and without being preachy it delivers the message silently but effectively. Anyone coming from the rural India knows that it is not a movie truth. I would love to see such movies become blockbuster and earn equal to what Yashraj and Dharma production movie earns which only have beautiful faces, exotic location and item song.

Dear Prakash Jee,watched #MattoKiSaikil today. Thanks for bringing back the original cinema. A cinema that connects masses,A cinema which asks questions and an ending which makes you silent. A great effort, Wonderful creation by M Gani jee. Keep up the good work .

Message to viewers, Matto will win your heart. You will laugh with him,you will cry with him,you will sing with him and you will dream with him. A motivational screenplay that brings back the importance of tiny little moments of life to be happy. Matto ki Saikil is a masterpiece in this time of copy/paste cinema. No vfx, no auto tune, pure acting and emotions.

A must watch.

This film needs your love n support

This is the tale of a lowly, diligent villager Matto and his constant companion - his prized possession - his bicycle. They have been together for two decades and now their camaraderie is under threat. The bicycle has been damaged beyond repair and he certainly cannot afford to buy a new one. #MattoKiSaikil narrates a heart-warming tale in the most authentic manner. Performances r excellent. Direction is competent. The short running time is a plus point. You may find it difficult to understand the dialogues because the language used here is not the hindi that is often spoken. This film needs your love n support - do watch it in theatres. Rating 3.5/5.

As real as it can be.

I am so surprised to see such a grounded realistic movie.

Some of people may not feel it.

Born in similar places i felt so connected thoroughly.

What ever was shown in movie i have seen all this since my childhood in front of my eyes.language spoken and living style and scenarios all are very real and practial which was shown in movie.

Felt like i am seeing it happening in front of my eyes as i used to see it.

While watching it i went through all sad and happy emotions goosebumps eyes full of tears.

The scale and gap of status was shown is Very harsh reality of today's world.. Kudos to makers for making such a great movie..

Truly Authentic

Movie shows you everything as is. The setting, acting, dialect is as close to reality as it can get.

It is mainly a story of a simple minded poor villager struggling for his daily survival. Movie highlights his challenges, frustration and anguish but is never over the top. And while at it also provides subtle commentary on everything from village politics, police, health infrastructure, poor water quality, dowry etc.

Acting is top notch and everyone has captured the mannerism and dialect so perfectly that no body looks out of place.

Movie is bit slow but not to be missed. It speaks less but conveys so much.
