    Its Badness is Rather Charming

    Three for One (1971)

    ** (out of 4)

Calling this a "movie" might make some gag but the "plot" has three different scenes all based around a threesome. In the first one Keith Erickson takes on a couple ladies. In the middle story Ric Lutze messes around with Rene Bond as well as her character's sister played by Sunny Boyd. The third story features a shower scene.

I'm not sure who directed or made THREE FOR ONE but there's no question that it was poorly done. I say that but at the same time it's so bad at times that you can't help but laugh and have some fun with it but more on that in a second. I'm not sure if these three segments were shot for different movies and then edited together for this but the movie comes to a very abrupt end so who knows what was going on.

As I said, the film is very poorly made but what makes it so funny is that you can hear the director during the first two sequences talking to the actors. In fact, in both segments the actors talk to each other, look at the director and then ask questions about what they are doing. Obviously the director's voice was probably meant to be covered by the music score but for some reason it wasn't. Seeing the actors act and react to his direction was quite funny in its own right.

As far as the film goes, it was obviously cheaply made but fans of Bond will enjoy her scenes here. As for the rest, there's nothing overly special outside of the goofs but those make the film worth watching.

    Three XXX loops

Title sort of says it all: three unrelated porn loops each featuring a threesome, strung together to constitute a feature film. Something Weird dragged it out for exposure on Vol. 140 of its Dragon Art Theatre series.

Star power is evident in the lengthy opening vignette teaming Keith Erickson with his frequent co-stars Suzanne Fields and Jill Sweete. Jill really looks just like Ally Sheedy this time around, and that's perhaps the only point of interest, as the troilism trio talk dirty and horse around, as careless and aimless as I've ever seen them. The director (wisely uncredited) yells instructions at them loudly, while the soundtrack offers Muzak versions of John Barry's "Midnight Cowboy" theme as well as the oft-used (in porn) "Goin' Out of My Head".

Superstars make the scene for part two, with Ric Lutze entertaining Eve Orlon and Rene Bond. Bond is cast as Eve's sister, disloyal to the point of humping her man Ric. Premise is arbitrary, as this soon devolves into a threesome (jealousy being nonexistent). The Muzak is sleepy here, and a phone somewhere on the set rings loudly and repeatedly but is ignored by the cast.

Final vignette oddly drops the "big-name" format, in favor of cute (but obscure) redhead Kay White/Dalana Bissonnette in the shower with a young guy as "It's Impossible" drones, leading inevitably to a threesome with a busty no-name girl. They change positions mechanically.

This is cheap, real-time filming, with virtually no editing.
