Last Kingdom remix

Is it just me or does this series just read like a remix of the Last Kingdom? The same characters just switched up ever so slightly and almost the exact same storyline. Still, high production value, authentic costuming and decent acting.

Leif refers to killing polar bears, but the term polar was not used to describe such bears until 1774. In addition, the term polar implies knowledge of a global north and south pole - something which the Vikings would not have been aware of at the time.
