Amnesia: Rebirth

Always exquisite level of storytelling and game design. This is horror perfection.

This game really want you to think about the story, really forces down your throat, sad it for me I was not compelled by it at all, I do really enjoy that you see the body, it has so a full body experience.

I think the game is scary, but it is so frustrating to play, I just couldn't figure out what to do and just got annoyed at running in the dark.

Pacing is really weird, in the original amnesia there was some voice lines here in dear, but the horror came from just walking around, but here there are so many pauses where you have to listen to the story that it just gets annoying.

The story just took the atmosphere out of it for me and I stopped caring.

I'm a big fan of Frictional Games. Their last game Soma was one of my favourite gaming experiences ever. This game has similar mechanics and a story which slowly unfolds itself the more you play. The shear mystery of the situation is the key motivator early on in the game, that being said the first 2 puzzles to solve were frustratingly difficult due to elements being difficult to see in the darkness, It is possible some people may give up early on, especially if they are not familiar with a game like this. However getting past the early difficulty- story becomes more and more intriguing and the puzzles get more and more satisfying. I would say after getting past the first 2 hours of play I was gripped until the end! How Frictional tell their stories requires such admiration. With characters, notes and other findings slowly piecing together the mystery. Top work in this game. Really enjoyed it. Eagerly awaiting their next release.
