Light hearted entertaining movie. Good casting for interesting characters.
Apparently this is a remake someone else commented, so going to search for that movie as well and watch it, as I enjoyed this one that much.

A fun clean film is such a rarity. Is it cookie-cutter? A 100%. But it is a cute chuckle fest cookie-cutter done so well. Thoroughly enjoyed it. The beats are perfect and it coasts along really well with tons of life lessons tucked in without the narrative sagging anywhere.
A decent premise and likeable and entertaining performances from Artus, Tom Leeb, Louka Meliava and Camille Lou notwithstanding, I can't help wishing that this largely acceptable feature had been produced as a miniseries instead. It just feels like so much of it would've benefitted from more time: more time to develop the plot, more time to witness the main characters' respective arcs (and maybe even to understand their individual evolutions) and more time to get to know the largely underused support characters. And definitely more screen time for Lou and Leeb, who tend to command your attention in most of the scenes they are in. The performances still make for an enjoyable hour and a half, though I was a little disappointed with the resolution. To be fair, this is something else more runtime would probably have resolved.
Dad bartek hires people to raid his family estate to force the kids to go find jobs. This sounds like an old black and white u.s. Film from 1930, with robert taylor or william powell, but until i remember it, it IS a remake of Madcaps from 1949. So the kids go get jobs. And they finally all start talking, as a family. For the first time. Dad realizes the communication issues and work ethics problems are not all on the offspring. Lessons to be learned all around. And the kids have some surprises in store for papa as well. Predictable, silly but fun. Directed by nicolas cuche.
This movie is what you would expect to see, in a positive way. It is something new, not the most usual storyline you can find.
Downs to this movie are some weird parts of plot. They are really unrealistic. Also personally, the length of certain events in the movies are badly divided. I would have like some parts and events to be more details and with more stories to reflect the current state.
It seems to me as big part of the story, maybe the key part lasted quite short.
It has its ups and downs of course, but in the end it is a good movie to check, it will probably be worth the time.

- TriviaThis is movie is a remake of the 1949 Mexican movie "The Great Madcap (El Gran Calavera)", not from "We Are the Nobles", whis is also based on The Great Madcap.
- GoofsPossibly as a reference to the Mexican origin of the script, next to the old house in Marseilles a huge cactus plant is very visible. The Barteks could have eaten quite well of those nopales, which even had prickly pears. The nopal is a very complete food and it is hard to believe that Alexandre Bartek was unaware of this plant.

Francis Bartek: I'm responsible for your problems. By all means, carry on, if it suits you. I have broad shoulders. Go ahead. The peritonitis, that was me! Global warming, that's me! Don't even mention world hunger!
