Resort to Love is really a Hallmark type romance made for Netflix.
However Netflix money means that the film has been shot on location in Mauritius. Pretty useful to have a bit of a travelogue when the entire world is in some form of a Covid lockdown.
Erica (Christina Milian) is heartbroken. She has been ditched by her fiance Jason. Her hopes to launch a music career in New York has also been dashed.
A friend helps Erica out by getting her a singing gig in a high class hotel resort in Mauritius. Only to find that Jason is in the same hotel to get married.
His bride to be hits it off with Erica without knowing that she is Jason's ex. Erica also takes a shine to Jason's hunky brother Caleb.
It's a pretty light and predictable plot. There seems to be little chemistry between the actors. The comedy was clumsy, the songs were ok.
It was just nice to see Mauritius on screen and reminiscent to better times when I visited the place.

It was better than expected with some cringe worthy moments. My standard for the movie was not very high from the begginning so I was a little surprised that I enjoyed it. Nice, easy , without any conflicts or unexpected moments.
This movie isn't a bad as you think, I've actually found myself chuckling through it, it's a fun movie! You can't expect every movie to be a Hollywood blockbuster. Tourism at this place is definitely going to get a good bump up, place looks amazing!
Resort to Love fell short of expectations, the dialogue was stiff, the cast had no chemistry, and the storyline terribly predictable.
Beautiful people. Beautiful setting. Good story. Flowed well. Funny, also emotional. Great performances. Christina Milian - so beautiful, as always. Great music and singing. A feel-good movie that makes you smile. Who doesn't want that - to feel happy.
