Manoj Bajpayee is familiar with the crime genre. His breakout role was that of Bhiku Mhatre in one of the greatest Hindi films of all time, Satya, where we got a peek into a version of Mumbai’s underworld. Then he was in Shool, which focused on crime and politics in Bihar. He played Veerendra Pratap in Raajneeti, which was an amalgamation of Mahabharat and The Godfather. He was integral to the evolution of the landscape of Hindi cinema that was triggered by Anurag Kashyap’s Gangs of Wasseypur duology. He is currently the face of the Silence franchise. Through The Family Man and Killer Soup, he has shown he is incredibly comfortable with flexing his acting chops through the episodic format on the small screen. So, I think it’s pretty normal to be hyped about his next project. But I’d advise you to keep your excitement at bay,...

In an interview with India Today, the director shared that the audience has seen his movies several times on television, so there is no need for their re-releases. “Actually, no. All my films have been watched multiple times by my audience. I meet people who say they have watched Gangaajal 40-50 times, so I don’t think there’s any need to release it in theatres again,” Jha said while speaking to India Today.

Why Was Ranbir Kapoor Shocked By Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani & Rocket Singh’s Bo Numbers? (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Ranbir Kapoor didn’t have quite an exciting start to his Bollywood career. His first film, a Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial, Saawariya (2007), was a critical and commercial failure. His next Yrf release, Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008), also didn’t work out well for him.
His commercial success as an actor finally came from Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahaani in 2009, a movie Ranbir thought would be an epic disaster. The slapstick comedy from Rajkumar Santoshi became the fourth biggest hit of the year.

Actor-director Phill Lewis has decades of experience in the sitcom space, primarily focused on live-action comedy. This television season alone he has directed episodes of Netflix’s “Mr. Iglesias,” CBS’ “B Positive,” the “Punky Brewster” and “iCarly” continuation series, and the still-to-be-scheduled “Head of the Class” reboot. National award-winning actor-producer Arjun Rampal, who will soon to be seen in the upcoming web series titled The Final Call, says since he was a supermodel before entering Bollywood, initially filmmakers cast him in characters keeping only his "good looks" in mind. Talking about his career graph that has changed since 2008 with Rock On!, Arjun said, "At the start of my career, filmmakers had a limited vision of me, perhaps that is why I only got to play a millionaire or a boyfriend in a love triangle. Back in 2000, we were not working on bound scripts the way we are doing it today. When the Cannes Film Festival unveiled its 2017 Official Selection, the lack of a single title by an Indian director marked the second year running that the biggest film industry in the world has been unrepresented in the main lineup (the last Indian movie in the Official Selection was Neeraj Ghaywan’s “Masaan” in 2015’s Un Certain Regard section).
Indian cinema has never been a complete non-entity at Cannes; ever since Chetan Anand won top honors with “Neecha Nagar” at the inaugural festival in 1946, Indian filmmakers have enjoyed some degree of exposure at Cannes, in or out of competition. In the last decade alone, screenings have included features and shorts from close to 30 Indian filmmakers, including Vikramaditya Motwani, who wowed audiences with “Udaan”; Ritesh Batra with his Grand Golden Rail-winning “The Lunchbox”; and Anurag Kashyap, whose “Ugly,” “Gangs of Wasseypur” and “Raman Raghav 2.0” all opened to applause at various Directors’ Fortnights.

The year 2017 started off with the big Box Office clash between Bollywood's two big ticket movies, Shah Rukh Khan's Raees and Hrithik Roshan's Kaabil. These two movies battled their way to victory at the Box Office. However, the business of both the films was affected due to divided screen counts which had a 60-40 percent ratio. And now, the Shahenshah of Bollywood Amitabh Bachchan with his Sarkar 3 is all set to lock horns with Bollywood's heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif's Jagga Jasoos at the box office. After facing a lot of hurdles during the making of the film, Anurag Basu's musical adventure drama - Jagga Jasoos, which was announced in the year 2014, had finally got its release date on April 7, 2017. But it looks like the film has become trouble's favourite child as Ram Gopal Varma's political crime thriller Sarkar 3, which was initially...

Pritam Chakraborty has hit the right note again with Ae Dil Hain Mushkil. As we all know, you can fall in love with a song when you hear it for the first time – whether it’s when the Ost first comes out or you hear a snippet in the trailer or the song video. That was especially true of Adhm’s music. However, most of the time, if you love a song right away, you’re bound to love it even more once you see it play within the world of the story of the film. Again, that is very true of Pritam’s music for Adhm. In fact, the songs of Adhm have played equal role in the film and the tracks make a scene grow more on the audience.
The music has been applauded, along with actors, by everyone in the Industry, critics and the audience.

Tamasha has done well over the weekend. The film took a good start on Friday (10.87 crore), showed growth on Saturday (13.17 crore) and then consolidated well on Sunday (14.12 crore), hence seeing a weekend of 38.23 crore. This has been a positive trend for the Imtiaz Ali directed film which was catering to a niche audience and was unlike any of the quintessential romcoms that hit the screens with every passing month. With a conventional narrative to boast of, the film has found good following from the target audiences, who have lapped up what was on display.
The film has now seen the best opening for a Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone starrer as their biggest weekend so far in 2015 was Roy (28.68 crore) and Piku (25.22 crore). Moreover, for Imtiaz Ali too, this is his biggest opening weekend ever, hence surpassing Love Aaj Kal (28 crore) and Rockstar (35 crore). What is all the more noticeable...

"Unless they put their mind into who they want to represent their country, they can't expect a change in the country," added the actor, currently shooting for Anurag Kashyap's "Bombay Velvet".
The 31-year-old.

Film: "Youngistaan"; Cast: Jackky Bhagnani, Neha Sharma, late Farooque Sheikh; Director: Syed Ahmed Afzal; Rating: ****
You have to hand it to this film for making an effort to be 'headline-ish' without toppling over with the temperament of topicality. This is a genre never really cracked in Hindi cinema. A political drama about a young foreign-educated Nri who is forced to take over his country's reigns after his father's sudden death.
Unlike Prakash Jha's "Raajneeti", "Youngistaan" doesn't take itself too seriously. There is no attempt here to mythicize or demonize the politicians.
Think Rajiv Gandhi. Think Rahul...Jackky Bhagnani plays an amalgamation of many political dreams. Never mind if some of them turn into.
