In the documentary, Pm Narendra Modi will be speaking in detail about India’s success over the Covid-19 pandemic.

Mumbai, Dec. Dec 21 (Ians) For the second time in a month, the Narcotics Control Bureau on Monday grilled model-turned-actor Arjun Rampal in the ongoing probe into the drugs nexus with Bollywood being probed by the central agency, officials said here.

Rampal, 47, was summoned last week, but he had written to the Ncb seeking time till December 22, citing some 'personal' commitments.

Earlier, he was interrogated for nearly 7 hours on November 13 after the Ncb raided his home and took away nearly a dozen electronic gadgets besides some (medical) tablets.

Later, he had told mediapersons that he has handed over a medical prescription of a particular painkiller which the Ncb took up for prescription.

Alankrita Shrivastava discusses her second feature, Lipstick Under My Burkha, which follows four women and their journey to break free from the constraints of society.

Writer-director Alankrita Shrivastava’s second feature, Lipstick Under My Burkha, had its world premiere at Tokyo International Film Festival in October, where it won the Spirit of Asia Award, and also screened at Mumbai Film Festival, where it was presented with the Oxfam Award for best film on gender equality.

The film follows four women in small-town India — a housewife who secretly works as a salesperson (played by Konkona Sensharma); a widow who is having a phone affair (Ratna Pathak Shah); a student trying to fit in with her peers at college (Plabita Borthakur); and a two-timing beautician (Aahana Kumra).

Produced by Prakash Jha, who was also behind Shrivastava’s first feature, Turning 30!!! (2011), the film began its journey at Nfdc Screenwriters’ Lab in 2012. It returned to Film Bazaar the following year when...

Prakash Jha, who is presently hopping from one city to another for the promotion of his upcoming cop-drama Jai GangaaJal, got a pleasant surprise by the students of Pranveer Singh Institute of Technology (Psit) when he visited their college, during the film’s promotions in Kanpur.

More than 3000 students were present to welcome Jha when he entered the premises along with his film’s actor Manav Kaul. The filmmaker and the actor were felicitated on the stage and some of the college students performed on the songs of Jha’s films.

A source reveals, “It was a massive event at Psit and what made it even bigger was the support of the students. They cheered for Prakash Jha and Manav and every time the former said something about cops of our country and the youth, they clapped in approval. The crowd went berserk when the film’s trailer was screened for them.

The Jaipur International Film Festival commenced from January 2 and ace filmmaker Prakash Jha not only inaugurated the prestigious film festival but was also conferred with the Jiff’s Excellence Award for his achievements in the field of cinema and his immense contribution to the Indian film industry.

The National Award-winning filmmaker, who has given several acclaimed films like Mrityudand, Gangaajal, Apaharan, Aarakshan and Raajneeti to name a few, got a taste of royalty in the Pink City. On receiving the award, Jha said, “It’s a big honour for me. Honestly, I have not done anything great till now, it’s too premature.” He also appreciated Jiff, which opened with Piku and Pakistani film Manto, and stated that such events help in creating new audiences. 35 feature films, 17 documentary feature films, 58 short films and 15 short animation films will be screened at the five-day long festival.

With a very heavy heart, we present our tribute to one of Bollywood’s finest music composers, Aadesh Srivastava, who sadly lost his battle with cancer. Our heartfelt condolences to the entire Srivastava and Pandit family. Aadeshji has two sons, Avitesh and Anivesh, with his wife Vijayta Pandit, who is sister of the famous Music Director duo Jatin-Lalit.

Aadeshji was not only a music director but also a background score composer. He gave the background score to many films, such as Humraaz, Ye Hai Jalwa and Paheli, the latter being one of our favorite and most noted background scores.

A highly respected and well-known composer both in the songs for films and also the background music his work has been heard in many wonderful films including Chalte Chalte, Baghban, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Raajneeti, Dev, and Baabul to name just a few. His brilliant vocals were also heard on many songs as well.

After his last film Satyagraha, filmmaker Prakash Jha has been pretty copious with his absence from the film circuit. However, we now hear that the director - producer will be making a comeback of sorts with not one but five films. In fact come October 29, Prakash Jha will be announcing the five ventures namely, Fraud Saiyyan that will be directed by Saurabh Srivastava featuring Arshad Warsi and Saurabh Shukla, We Are Kukkad Family that will be directed by Riteish Menon, Lipstickwaale Sapne that will see Alankrita Srivastava (who earlier directed Turning 30) and also sequels to both Gangaajal and Raajneeti. Though further details of the films are unavailable, Prakash Jha will be making a formal announcement of the same later this week.

After Kareena Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit and Aishwarya Rai, yet another actress who will be getting the honour of having a wax statue at Madame Tussauds, London is Katrina Kaif. Mumbai, April 2: Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, starting April 7, "Raajneeti" star Ranbir Kapoor appeals to the country's youth to exercise their voting rights to bring about the desired changes in the country.

"I think it is very important that the youth of the country votes. If they want a change in the country, then they have to vote," Ranbir said here Tuesday at the red carpet of Mijwan Fashion Show.

"Unless they put their mind into who they want to represent their country, they can't expect a change in the country," added the actor, currently shooting for Anurag Kashyap's "Bombay Velvet".

You have to hand it to this film for making an effort to be 'headline-ish' without toppling over with the temperament of topicality. This is a genre never really cracked in Hindi cinema. A political drama about a young foreign-educated Nri who is forced to take over his country's reigns after his father's sudden death.

Unlike Prakash Jha's "Raajneeti", "Youngistaan" doesn't take itself too seriously. There is no attempt here to mythicize or demonize the politicians.

Think Rajiv Gandhi. Think Rahul...Jackky Bhagnani plays an amalgamation of many political dreams. Never mind if some of them turn into.
