One half of the set of this season's best episodes

My overall rating of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia"'s Season 4: 4/10

This episode captures what I feel is the soul of the series, and even though I prefer somewhat less outlandish plots, the fear of consequences that underpins this one makes it believable enough for me to work. The humour and performances are top notch, and Frank's absence brings me positive memories of Season 1 - not that I necessarily hate Frank's character, but his plots drag the show down relatively often, in my opinion, and sometimes sorta take it too far?.. I think only the scene in Korman's office wasn't properly hilarious, but the rest of the episode very much was, from start to finish.

    Absolutely a comedy classic.

    Funny

This is my favourite episode. I love the way it escalates. The premise is simple. The bar gets a bad review and so the gang go to find the critic responsible. I love Frank, but, this episode works better without him. This showcases the gang at their very best. It is a one off gem of an episode that belongs on any greatest hits collection.

    • Trivia
The gang sings a capella the song "It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday," originally performed by G.C. Cameron. It is from the 1975 film Cooley High. Philadelphia natives Boyz II Men would later record an a capella cover of the song for their 1991 debut album, Cooleyhighharmony.
    • Goofs
During the final scene between the gang, the hammer and Coors Light Bottle alternately appear and disappear from the bar top.
    • Quotes

Dennis Reynolds: What do I want you to say? I don't know... "Dennis Reynolds, your car is awesome. Your flat-screen TV, I took a look at it. It's very very thin. It speaks volumes about you as a person."
