I started watching this show and immediately got hooked. Yes, the humour is a bit crude for Brits, and women. The jokes are often about sexual shortcomings and alternate lifestyles. Brits usually like to take subtle shots at politicians or celebrities -- that'll never work in America. However, they did take a shot at George W. Bush in the third episode parodying his infamously flubbed "Fool me once, shame on you" speech.
The character of Zezelryck, the incompetent sorcerer, reminded me of Chris Tucker's character in the movie The Fifth Element. It was a screechy Prince or Michael Jackson impersonation.
Bruce, the gay boytoy character, is a bit too over-the-top. Too obviously gay. I liked the character they had in the 4th episode, the Bi-Clops. He was a bit more subtle, and therefore funnier.

Not a series to be taken seriously, as you can probably tell from the title. But if you like sci-fi/fantasy type movies and comedies, then this is definitely for you. The strong point of this show is the wide array of ridiculous characters. I enjoy Dongalor (the villain) the most as a character... but there are plenty of memorable ones. The General, Horse Rapist, the weapons inspector, the Innkeeper..etc. The humor is a little on the cheesy side...but it's endearing. This show sold me after the first episode and I ordered the season off itunes. I would definitely give this my recommendation for anyone that enjoys movies such as Zoolander, Dodgeball and their ilk.
For an overall score, I gave is show 8/10

I didn't expect the show to be entertaining, I expected a another serious show like The Legend of the Seeker that was nothing like the book. Surprisingly, it was pretty funny. It's not the more smart kind of funny show, but more like Austin Powers, Robin Hood Men in Tights, and other silly movies like that. The real difference here is that the story gets a little wacky and really has a lot of surprises.
I like how the characters are pretty unique. The main hero is probably the smartest one who isn't very good with running his crew and he's having girl problems because his girl is sleeping with everyone. The wizard is black and really doesn't have any magic. He just lies about it. And another guy (who looks like a brute) is pretty much a wuss and sucks at shooting a crossbow (which he shoots a lot....and hits the hero). The main bad guy is pretty funny too. He's similar to Dr. Evil from Austin Powers, only with an accent and he really seems to have power over his legion.
I have heard some bad comments on this show after I watched the pilot and I was wondering how they can say those things with we see repeated movies like Epic Movie, Date Movie, and other stupid crap go to the movie theaters every few months. Krod Mandoon is funnier only because their jokes are a little more thought out and they aren't totally wacky. Like a man being able to spin so much that he plows through the floor, that would be Dance Flick, but not Krod Mandoon.
My favorite thing about the show is it really reminds me of The Legend of the Seeker. The acting isn't top notched, but when it's supposed to be some small silly show, that's all you need. I think people are expecting this to be a Michael Bay show or something. Anyways, I enjoyed it.

Granted this show is not to the taste of the pseudo-intellectual elite who find it boorish but it still has it's moments and it's funny if you take it at face value (again, Shakespeare it ain't but it makes no claim to that title either). Sean Maguire is ably cast as the main character, on a quest with his flaming sword (which fires up when he seems to least expect it) and his merry band of misfits. There's the sexy pagan chick, the sorcerer who sucks at magic, and the big lummox of an ogre guy who is enslaved to Mandoon for whatever reason. The standout character, however, is Lord Dongalor, perfectly played by an "over the top" Matt Lucas of "Little Britain" fame. At half an hour, the show isn't too long and it's a bit of a welcome respite from some of the other weird junk Comedy Central has in it's line-up. It's not a bad show at all and it seems to be getting better and better now that the characters are being fleshed out a bit more with each new episode. Different but worth a look.

The commercials didn't make me laugh but they did catch my interest. I had Tivo grab the first episode. I wasn't expecting much, but I soon found myself laughing out loud - a LOT. Krod Mandoon has quickly become one of my favorite shows. It's a campy medieval comedy packed with great characters. From what I've seen in reviews, people either love it or hate it. I think some people don't get that it's meant to be campy. It's not going to have a tight plot with brilliant acting - it's supposed to be a low-budget romp. Some of the moments of humor are totally unique, too - things I've never seen before, and they surprise me so much I have to hit pause so I can ROFL. Dongalor, the bad guy, is particularly funny. And somehow they managed to give everybody the worst hair I've ever seen. It's stunning. Anyways, I love this show.

- TriviaSean Maguire originally passed on the part because he wanted to do a more serious project following his role in the poorly-received comedy movie Meet the Spartans (2008), and did not think the show was right for him. He also thought the title sounded stupid. His manager encouraged him to read the script and give it another chance, and, upon reading the script, Maguire changed his mind and decided he wanted the role.
