There is an age-old quote that says art imitates life, but that sentiment doesn't extend to scripted series versus unscripted series, aka reality television. Sweet Magnolias is a scripted series that has all the necessary ingredients of your favorite reality shows. There is the genteel backdrop of Southern Charmand leads with sisterhood much like the 'Real Housewives' franchise. The cast includes a former Grammy award-winning artist in Heather Headley and also Jamie Lynn Spears, a singer and actress in her own right, but most importantly the little sister of 90's pop princess Britney Spears. Brooke Elliott is also a famed singer and performer who spent time touring with Broadway productions before turning her focus to acting and scoring the lead role in Lifetime's cult hit, Drop Dead Diva. With Jamie Lynn's connection to music royalty and the award-winning accolades of Heather and Brooke, the cast is undeniably Andy Cohen...

Since its end in 1997, "Married... with Children" has maintained a legacy as one of the strangest and longest-running television shows of its kind. The Fox sitcom was, on its face, a standard multi-camera sitcom about a dysfunctional family and the colorfully zany characters that breezed in and out of their suburban enclosure. At the same time, it bucked contemporary genre conventions, daring to push the boundaries of acceptable behavior for sitcom protagonists while leaning into the surrealist subgenre -- which, relative to the tamer landscape of TV back in the late '80s and '90s, surely must've surprised some audiences.
And yet, as odd and abrasive as the show could be, the series was reliably anchored by a powerhouse cast of comedic actors at the top of their game. This included Ed O'Neill, Katey Sagal, and Christina Applegate, all three of whom have been receptive to revive the series...

Peacock is bringing Grimm back, this time as a movie. The popular supernatural drama, which aired on NBC from 2011 to 2017, is being reimagined as a feature-length film.
Josh Berman, best known for creating Drop Dead Diva, is writing and producing the project alongside the original series’ creators, David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf.
Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner from Hazy Mills Productions, along with Universal Television, are also attached as executive producers.
Details about the plot and cast remain under wraps, but the movie is expected to connect to the original series while introducing new elements. This approach could cater to long-time fans of the show while also being accessible to new audiences. Some speculate the film could serve as a springboard for a larger franchise if it proves successful.

On that note, Deadline reports this afternoon that Peacock is developing the revival of “Grimm,” which will take the form of a feature film on the Peacock streaming service.

Following weeks of rumors, the Friday, August 30 episode saw what is likely the end of the road for actor Adam J. Harrington on ABC’s “General Hospital” after his character, John “Jagger” Cates, was killed off.
During a face-off with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), John confronts the mobster, telling him he should turn himself in by confessing to his crimes. Unfortunately for the FBI agent, Sonny had the upper hand, informing John that he made a mistake by going after his family, something the coffee importer/exporter had warned him about previously. In the end, Sonny shoots two bullets into John as the rain pours down over them.

“Emily in Paris” Season 4 delivered just the right amount of chaos, high fashion and whimsy we needed as the summer comes to a close.
But, with just five episodes in Season 4 Part 1, this season of the Netflix drama is ready to be binged in mere hours. Luckily, Part 2, which will include the latter five episodes of Season 4, will return on Sept. 12.
In the meantime, “Emily in Paris” creator Darren Star has plenty of lighter fare shows full of great fashion from “Sex and the City” — and its later offshoot “The Carrie Dairies” — to “Younger.” If you watch the Lily Collins-lead series for escapism, campy comedies like “Dollface” or “Drop Dead Diva” might also scratch the whimsical itch.
Keep on reading for the seven shows like “Emily in Paris” you should watch while you wait for Part 2 to drop.

S.W.A.T. is not ending after all. Beating the odds a second time, the action drama has been renewed for the 2024-25 season, with Shemar Moore set to continue as star and executive producer. I hear Season 8 will consist of 22 episodes.
The news comes a year after S.W.A.T. was canceled before the decision was dramatically reversed a couple of days later with a renewal for a seventh and final season. This time, the network is not boxing itself in and is leaving the door open to more by not branding 8 as the series’ final season.
The surprise renewal, which sources said came down pretty quickly over the last couple of days, also comes as S.W.A.T is wrapping production on its seventh season. Moore hinted at the drama not necessarily ending by posting set photos on his Ig story yesterday with the caption “Season 7 finale will be [fire emoji],” not referring to the episode as series finale.

The Sweet Magnolias cast in season 2 saw many characters return, with some new stars being promoted to series regulars. The romantic drama continued to focus on Maddie, Helen, and Dana Sue, the group of friends trying to better their small community in Serenity. Sweet Magnolias season 1 finale delivered some shocking twists that were explored in season 2, above all, the car crash at the ending that saw Kyle being extracted unconscious from his brother’s car. The other passenger’s identity was left unknown until season 2 revealed it was Nellie Lewis, and she was luckily still alive.
Sweet Magnolias season 2 saw Dana Sue juggling a reconciliation with her husband Ronnie and a new relationship with farmer Jeremy. Sweet Magnolias season also showed a blossoming new relationship for Helen, who can finally explore what she feels for chef Erik. Like season 1, Sweet Magnolias season 2 was based on the book series by Sherryl Woods.

Ever since American socialite Kim Kardashian was announced as being cast in FX’s “American Horror Story” Season 12 (subtitled “Delicate”), fans have taken to social media to express their hesitation. Even former “AHS” costar Patti LuPone had nothing nice to say about the casting announcement. But Kardashian is prepared to silence all of her haters before she begins filming at the end of May. How? She’s taking acting lessons.
“I am, of course, yes, yes,” she told Variety‘s Marc Malkin at the Met Gala when he asked if she was taking acting lessons (watch below). Kardashian added, “You know, it’s a challenge. I like to challenge myself.”

It was only a matter of time before these words ended up in a sentence together: Kim Kardashian will be joining the 12th season of Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk's long-running anthology, "American Horror Story." A collaboration between the man who explores fame, camp, luxury, and what captures America's attention, and the woman who has captured America's attention better than anyone else feels so natural, that it's surprising it hasn't happened sooner.
Kardashian posted a teaser promo to her Instagram account today announcing the collaboration. In the promo, you can hear the sound of children playing along with a slow, eerie rendition of "Rock-a-bye Baby." An enigmatic, slowly revealed tagline reads: "Emma Roberts and Kim Kardashian are delicate." Roberts is an "American Horror Story" veteran who played the witch Madison Montgomery in the seasons titled "Coven" and "Apocalypse," and appeared as other characters in the anthology along the way.
