Low budget but good writing and acting

The budget for this movie seems pretty low. BUT, it punches above its weight. The writing is unexpected and realistic. The acting is pretty good except for Brian cox.... Jk he hits the mark. But the kid actors have great chemistry and really carry the film. There are many memorable scenes throughout it. Some are hilarious, some very thoughtful and moving. Torrey DeVitto also has some memorable moments, as do the characters of the dad and son. All in all, this movie seems like one thing, but has a lot more quality underneath. For a first-time director, this was an impressive feat. I'd like to see what he could do with a real budget.

    A beautifully made film

This film blew my expectations in terms of directing. You would think for how low budget it is that it would have a lot of weak element to it. But overall I was surprised by how amazing the shots were And the set design were in the film. Plus having talent like Brian cox in the film was just the cherry on top. I came in thinking it would be a boring snooze fest but for the premise of the film I was blown away with how they turn such I simple concept into something that I believe is one of the best films I have watch this year. This film was beautifully executed and I believe It was worth the watch.

Top 3 worst films ever made

We decided to watch this in due to it having Brian Cox in it and then a rating of 8.4 on IMDB. I'm guessing the only two ratings of 10 were given by friends of the director as the acting is excruciating to watch. The story dies in the first 10 mins of the film as it is incomprehensible and the child actors chosen to be in this film have never ever acted before.

Please save the £2.50 rental fee and watch something else, you'll thank me.

I'm not quite sure why Cox did this as he doesn't do roles for money and has some integrity in what he takes on. Whoever wrote this must have been promised a favour by the studio as it is simply appalling.

    Dry, terrible

For having two big actors in the movie it was very dry no humor the story was dragged out. We were actually back round actors and you can see my daughter clearly waiting in line and the credits actually got her name wrong and left my last name out. When we were told what the movie was about it sounded like it was going to be a good heart warming movie. While on set the main characters (the young boys) were actually very arrogant and rude. And watching the film it really seemed like the one that played the young Jonah did not want to be there. I think it has potential if it had more money and a different director. Save yourself the money it's really a put you to sleep type movie.
