I have watch all three of the UnsupersizeMe theme/productions. As an individual that has struggled with being obese and bad eating habits plus pre-diabetic, high blood pressure and signs of fatty liver - I can attest that these films helped me to make the decision to create a permanent change in my life by following the paradigm of Plant Based nutrition, exercise and definitely good rest. There was never a moment in any of the films that I felt obligated or the producers had to promote veganism in any way - All of the recommendations given are proven to work in a natural way-
In this last film The producer goes to Cuba and finds a regular citizen that happens to have many health issues and struggles - Carly decides to help him by teaching him good nutrition and exercise- the impressive aspect is that in Cuba the largest portion of the population has scarce resources and by positive reinforcement and dedication the subject was able to see and experience quick positive and permanent results - things always change in life and this change for me was the best that happened to me- Way to go UnsupersizeMe team-
Thank you Carly-!
Wow! I've seen both of director Juan-Carlos Asse's first two films (Unsupersize Me and Unsupersize Us) and they were outstanding. This one does not disappoint!! His major theme in each movie is the same. Simply put, a whole-food-plant-based diet coupled with exercise can and will put you into your optimum health and transform your life. Each movie has its own nuances and twists. In Unsupersize Me he took a morbidly obese woman and set out to discover what his plan would do for her in one year. The results were astounding! She lost 200 pounds and regained her life in numerous ways. In his second film he took a group of people who had various health problems (overweight, diabetes, depression, sleep apnea etc) and set out to see what his plan would do for them in just six weeks. Once again, the results were incredible. Each person lost weight and what's more, all of their other medical conditions improved. Including reversals of medical problems!
In his third movie Unsupersize Me in Cuba, he takes Ridiel Perez, an overweight and unhealthy Cuban man and shows that the same plan can work even in a country without many resources, like available gyms.
This movie is fascinating because Director Asse takes us into a country which until recently has been closed to American visitors. We see the beauty of the county and learn about its culture. Asse also shows us that his plan will transform you even if you can't afford or don't have access to a gym. Ridiel Perez has a complete transformation and there is an exciting twist at the end! This is a MUST-SEE!!

I really enjoyed this film! It has everything I loved from the first 2 films by Juan-Carlos Asse, but is also quite different. First of all, it takes place in Cuba. I've always wanted to see that country and wondered what it's like there, but since I'm an American we aren't allowed to go. This film shows you all the beautiful landscapes and beaches of Cuba as well as lots of insight into the rich Cuban culture. You also see how communism has ravaged the country and how much poverty is there because of it. The subject has an impressive transformation (as all Asse' films do), but it's cool because there are very limited resources available in Cuba. No gyms and food isn't as readily available as it is in the US. I highly recommend this film!
