Don't lose faith watching first half. I was bored watching first half. They took more than enough time to build the characters and crrating an environment.
But second half is promising. Its worth watching.

First half is little bit stretched unnecessarily otherwise it's a good movie to watch. The only negative point about this movie is it's screenplay is slow paced especially in first half, and in the 2nd half it's quite gripping and plot unfold gradually. Nushrat Barucha did a splendid job here and other supporting characters also did their jobs perfectly in this entire movie. I will say, it's absolutely fine to watch it with family and friends. You will like it's 2nd half and ending as well because it have a good social message at the end with justification.
Chhorii is a women centered Bollywood horror movie. Good scary music, some extremely horrible scenes and location of the village make it a good movie to watch. This movie has Illusions, superstition, mystery, and secret story. Only thing is that movie started from a different story and ended in completely different plot. This movie also revolves around misconceptions about feminine gender. Acting of Mita Vasisth is at par. Nusrat is good, if not the best. Overall, a family horror movie to watch at night with 5.1 sound system to feel the fear of the superb horrific background sound.
Engaging Movie ...
With Meaningful message...
Little bit cruelty is shown, but it has thrown the light on behaviour of harsh society against women...
Eventhough it is a remake but it is must watch movie 👍🏻
I'm writing this review as an audience who hasn't watched the original.
Mid way through the film you will realize, the plot is nothing new. It deals with a serious social issue related to women in villages and even cities till date. However, the way the film moves forward makes sure that you are still invested in the film despite knowing what is to come.
The setting of this film is amazing, a house in between tall grasses, perfect setting for a spooky film. But I'll be honest, there are only a few jumpscares thanks to the loud jumpscare music that helps. Once, the back story starts to unravel, the horror dissappears completely. However, the way the back story is revealed is something I really liked. That is what kept invested even after knowing what's coming .
The climax final revelations are shocking . However, the treatment is not up to the mark. You feel that impact missing solely because the last revelations are shown as mere montages and not fully fledged sequences. Had they shown a full sequence, the impact would have been much more hard hitting and emotional sadly that emotion is less , if not missing completely. Being promoted as a horror, there is not much of it.
Nushrat bharucha till date can't convince me that she is 35+. She looks so young in films and here, her role is kind of a challenging one and she's done a good job. Mita vashishth is a show stealer, from her accent to her way of talking impressed me . Rest everyone were good too.
Overall, a film that can definitely be watched its not at all a torture or any sort of thing like that . Watch it for the issue dealt with the film, watch it for performances, don't expect too much of horror or spine chilling moments and yeah, the director could have treated the climax much better.
