The Vast of Night

A stunning directorial presentation from a young new director A low budget independent film that is an homage to Close Encounters of a Third Kind. This is how Spielberg's film would have looked without the big Hollywood budget and stars. Long takes of expository storytelling with feelings and dramatic effect. The long take carrying us from the switchboard to the radio station is worth the film alone. I had to watch it several times and still could not see the cuts. The score is low key and riveting. Keep a close eye on this writer/director/producer.
