An important step for the future of truly independent cinema.

Chlorine is fully improvised, made for no money and released worldwide for free. Any of these aspects would be notable on their own, but all together it makes it an immensely interesting and incredibly inspiring project. The fact of the matter is filmmaking has been democratized, it's possible by anyone, anywhere, right now. What Dan Lotz and Joel Dik did with Chlorine was prove that.

It's a film with beautiful shots and a truckload of heart. When one thinks of a no budget movie, they likely think of something small scale, contained, perhaps in one room. Defying this, Dan and Joel didn't limit their ambition. Most notably it uses locations brilliantly, never feeling repetitive or stuck, always giving you something new to look at.

A film like this has the power to inspire many people and show them they don't need money or connections to make a great movie.

It's free on YouTube and worth everyone's time.

When $500 And Grit Yield A Feature Film

An absolutely marvelous example of the new 'no-budget' (films made for less than 10k) aka folk film. The cinematography is top notch and shows just how good the Sony A7SIII can be in capable hands.

If you want to make films, you owe it to yourself to check this out. It's a perfect case study for how to make a film on your terms without maxing out credit cards on a hope and a prayer like Kevin Smith had to in order to make Clerks.

The director (Dan Lotz) even got interviewed by YouTuber Austin McConnell about making the movie. #SupportIndieFIlm and check out Chlorine! Especially if you enjoy neo-noir.

    Okay film

I found this film and their YouTube channel after watching a YouTuber named Austin McConnell. I've been following this channel now for months and I saw they posted it on IMDB which is really cool. I think it was fun to watch this movie but it just needed some brushing up. I think these guys have a bright future, though if they continue to work hard. I have a feeling their next film is going to be much better since they will have more experience.

A very unique film with the potential to be highly influential

Dan Lotz doesn't care about your suspension of disbelief. With CHLORINE he tells the story of a very unlikely hitman, and a bunch of organized crime guys that look nothing like what we've come to expect. This is done with such confidence that the film takes on a surreal, unsettling, almost unreliable narrator-esque quality-and never breaks, never winks. It assumes we are intelligent enough to get what's going on. I love what Dan has accomplished here-CHLORINE is way less obsessed with itself than something like MR. ROBOT, but hits similar unsettling meta notes. I'd compare it to DARK HORSE, one of Solondz' best films. Take the journey-you'll be glad you did.

Best Indy Film I've seen in a while

One of my favorite new Indy releases. The cinematography was on point. The soundtrack opened me up to artists I've never listened to before. They really did a lot without having a real budget. I can't imagine what they will do with more money
