    Great Movie!

What a great idea for a movie definitely an original concept, which is something hard to come by these days in movies. It took time for us in Canada to be able to see this movie; thank you Super channel; this was worth waiting for. You actually forget you are watching a "movie" and get right into what is going on to produce this!! Fantastic actors & actresses Very Realistic they just portrayed natural characters and the cattiness between a couple of the girls was Very funny because; well lets face it we can be catty. Would love to buy a copy to watch it repeatedly. This is not a movie for children to watch but I would let my 16 year old see it.

    Great zombie fun.

What do you do when a zombie apocalypse destroys society and your way of life? If you're a self-centered shallow git like wannabe schlock filmmaker David J. Francis, (The director, playing himself) you get your self centered egomaniac friends to help you conclude the third part of your zombie franchise "Zombie Night", which were shot before the outbreak. Francis and co figure that they can get that gritty real life feel to their film, by utilizing real undead zombies. And if they happen to be temperamental, well the show must go on. The only problem is, what constitutes talent among the bunch could be written on the back of a postage stamp, with room to spare...

Reel Zombies is awesome fun, with funny naturalistic performances and some laugh out loud scenes as things go from bad to worse for the crew of incompetents.

One of the most original zombie films I've seen lately, it's proof positive that having next to nothing for a budget is no excuse to make a bad film.

A very entertaining hoot from start to finish it's well recommended for any zombie fan. 8/10

    An original zombie movie

I'm not keen on zombie movies. Zombies were a big thing for a short while when I was growing up, and I liked them then, but I think they had their day. Then they turned up again, with nothing very new to say, and this time they've stuck around. I suspect the low special effects budget they require is largely responsible for their current popularity among filmmakers, although there has been plenty of multi-million dollar additions to zombie cinema in recent years.

This movie is about filmmaking, particularly low budget filmmaking by egotistical, self-absorbed cretins who, as far as I can tell, are playing satirical versions of themselves.

In this movie, there is an ongoing zombie apocalypse, and the makers of (very real movies) Zombie Night and Zombie Night 2 are trying to make another zombie movie, this time with real 'wrangled' zombies. It's darkly funny, relentlessly self aware, and refreshing.

I still don't like zombie movies, but if Zombie Night or Zombie Night 2 swing by the free streamers some time, I'll check them out on the strength of this movie. It shows real (reel) innovation.

So I'm giving it 8 twinkly things.

    • Trivia
The scene where Basil and Rebecca run away from a car and gasoline drums on fire, took 7 hours with more than 9 vehicle specialists and 5 special effects technicians to prepare for the explosion. The second and largest explosion in the sequence, although delayed by 2 seconds due to wind shift on location and cast not being beyond the "safe zone" created a fireball more than 300 feet high and was seen and heard more than 3 km from the film set.

Andrew Fruman: Who are some of your influences?

David J. Francis: You know, Dean Koontz. I mean, I read a couple books on screenwriting after I'd written my first script and it said you had to do this whole thing where you know you have like the lead up for the characters and development and I don't like to do that. I just like to sit down and first thing I do is I come up with a title for the movie. Like for Zombie Night 1, I just thought, hey, Zombie Night, that's a good title, so I wrote down the title.

Andrew Fruman: Do you think maybe a bit of planning might help?

David J. Francis: You can only plan so much, I mean, you gotta, if you wanna make a movie you make it. I mean you don't, you don't sit and talk about it and think about it. I mean, would Gone With the Wind have ever been made if all they did ever was talk about it. Maybe we should change this scene a little bit. Maybe, you know, maybe the kiss happens here.

Andrew Fruman: Don't you think they did do that though?
