I rarely give a 10. Have I ever? Maybe one or two times.
This series is totally fascinating and engulfing. I watched it in Chinese with english (and Chinese) subtitles. The whole making of the movie and the way it is presented... is very ... well, either it's very unique or it is a cultural thing, as I haven't watched many Chinese movies. But this in a very positive way.
There are a lot of retrospects/flashbacks. Scenes from the past. More and more it comes to the surface how all the charatcters are connected and how they ended up on that bus that fell into the valley.
The flashbacks repeat themselves, that is, some improtant ones are shown more than once. Which may some find confusing but it actually highlights them.
And the the song! Red River Valley, in this Chinese version. With some different undertones depending on the mood. This movie/series is a work of genious!
Not to mentio the actors. You get to feel for them, even the "bad" ones. You get all their background. You get to see a scene, and then later on see the same scene again but this time with the actions that lead up to it.
And now the actors themselves. Each one of them a character. First of all, extremely good-looking people among them. (ok of cpurse or they wouldn't have been chosen, but still). And the acting also. The emotion.
Plus the whole thing gets a supernatural spin to it too. And what about this scene about dark matter exploring on TV that shows up again and again? It will start to make sense! But remains in a kind of mysterious realm. Yes, a real mystery thing! LOVE IT! I hope there will be a season 2. At the end it says "end of season 1". But I went looking for the next season but it seems there isn't? In any cae, thumbs up, quite a work of art!
