    A fantastic continuation.

The BBC choose to run a story about Isaac Turner, however they are redirected when Garland steps in.

The first episode was quite staggering, I was expecting there to be something of a lull in this second, but it was just as good, an excellent continuation, it's an intense, fast paced affair.

You'll need to concentrate, as you could easily miss something, try and avoid fiddling with your phone. It's a mix of genres, it's a heavy political drama, with several elements mixed in.

Good drama should be thought provoking as well as entertaining and absorbing, this certainly was, it makes you question if everything you're seeing is as it should be, similar to the way that The Undeclared War did recently.

I really enjoyed watching Lia Williams here, Garland is such a tough cookie, she'd devoid of any personality. Indira Varma was great also as the prickly Newsnight host.

    9/10.

Big LOL to the reviewer here complaining about 'language'

This show is fantastically written, directed, edited, performed, scored and produced. It's a gift from some other realm of superior TV production. The reviewer here complaining about language though! Have you actually followed the story? The idea that the nightmarish threats at play here are perfectly fine and comfortable, but a bit of effing is cause to throw the TV over and refuse to finish the series is completely insane. It's a gritty thriller for f's sake! Would you rather the characters dressed like teletubbies too? Frankly, this show shouldn't be watched by snotty highhorse churchy sorts, so please don't watch and enjoy it.

Good programme spoilt by excessive bad language

I enjoyed the first episode and was looking forward to seeing how it continued.

However our viewing was spoilt by the unnecessary excessive use of the "f" word.

It did not add to the programme and by the end of this episode we are not sure if we will watch the series again. When compared to Ridley and Van der Valk where the storylines were not as good. However because there was very little bad language or blasphemy, they were more watchable. It is a shame that writers need to resort to using excessive bad language or blasphemy in a programme. Two other programmes on recently which suffered from this were Sherwood and Murder in Provence, both of which were unwatchable.

    Excellently paced

Building on the foundations set in episode one, the plot is starting to unfurl quite nicely now with various threads of interest appearing. It's extremely difficult to know who to trust with all the characters potentially having ulterior motives, which adds to the intrigue.

I've been boring my partner to tears with my various theories, no doubt all of them far from the mark, so I'm very much looking forward to seeing in which direction the showrunners take things. I suspect there'll be more than a few shocking and unexpected twists to come if this season is anything like the first. My (extremely far-fetched) hope is that we see more of Shaun Emery and the superb actor who brought his character to life so brilliantly in season one.

    Thoroughly hooked.

    • Trivia
When DSU Garland tells Commander Hart "We're looking at the most blatant attack by a foreign power since Salisbury", she is referring to the poisoning of Sergei (and daughter Yulia) Skripal. Skripal was a former Russian military officer, and was a double agent for British intelligence agencies. They were poisoned by a Novichok nerve agent (a chemical weapon developed by the USSR/Russia). Two Russian nationals, believed to be active officers in Russian military intelligence were suspected of carrying out the poisoning. Russia has never accepted responsibility, and various diplomatic insiders followed.
