This film undercuts the whole premise of a mockumentary: that one is able suspend one's disbelief about whether the story is true or not.
With over-the-top character names (Tank Macho) terrible dialogue gimmicks, and no stunts whatsoever, the film falls apart within the first five minutes.
"Stuntmen" is an exercise in tediousness that seems like it were created by the most obnoxious members of a junior-year high-school drama class, if they were only allotted a large enough budget for their pubescent foolishness.
If one wishes to contrast this film to a properly done modern mockumentary, please watch "A Mighty Wind" or "Hard Core Logo".
The only people who will be able to stomach this meal are the kind who consider "Talledega Nights" to be superior to "The Godfather". Everyone else steer clear.

Like others, I picked up this DVD because I like the occasional mockumentary, not expecting much. It was hilarious! I rarely write reviews, but I thought it was only appropriate to review a movie that is downright creative, sincerely funny and clever. I was into every second of the film!
This is a real gem for sure and the acting was phenomenal. I am shocked that this hasn't blown up because the cast and creators obviously put together something really special and different.
So, to sum things up, go rent this movie asap - you will have a great night in with lots of laughs.

This mockumentary is nothing short of supreme hilarity. I am not usually a fan of the genre but Stuntmen is uproariously funny and entertaining! I loved it from start to finish and I will explain why:
The plot is hilarious - two men battling it out for Stuntman of the Year - and then the execution - totally entertaining. The quotes that come out of this movie are second to none. This film is great and Brandon Routh does a fabulous job which brings me to the cast - they are fantastic. For me, the acting that is done is the real winner in this film.
In sum, I loved this movie and I think that as far as mockumentaries go, its is something that anyone can enjoy and laugh at and with.

I glad I picked up this DVD because it has a down-to-earth level of humor that I find missing in so-called sitcoms. I actually laughed out loud at many of the scenes even though I could pretty much tell what was coming. It was the actors' great ability to make those scenes larger than life that did it for me. This movie also takes some hard swings at the Hollywood mentality. For those of you who are Mon-Fri 9-to-5ers like me, this is the PERFECT Friday night after-work-drink-a-couple-of-beers movie. While I think that Brandon Routh, Marc Blucas, Ray Wise and Lance LeGault are the standout stars, I found myself logging on to IMDb during the movie to check out the other people.
This mockumentary follows the lives of the two men who are up for the 'stuntman of the year' award, as well as a lot of other characters including their agents, girlfriends, and family members. It's kind of like a cross between Zoolander and Waiting for Guffman.
This film has a great ensemble cast of very funny actors, who all deliver incredible performances. The humour and language definitely push the envelope on more than one occasion. I literally cringed several times and some of the ridiculous things coming out of the actor's mouthes. All in all, it just builds the laughs up even more.
Don't watch it with grandma, but definitely watch it.
