God of highschool is an anime based on the webtoon who goes by the same tittle, the story is about a teenager called Jin mori who loves fighting strong people. Jin mori is trying to find his grandfather who disapeared with the help of his two friend Daewi Han and Mira yoo who he met at a tournament
Imo excellent animation isn't enough to qualify this as a masterpiece, the first half is really good but then it turns a really good martial arts tournament into power ups that apparently come out of nowhere, (maybe not) then everything revolves around that powers and it gets really messy.
Character development is done in little time and in just some pieces of dialogue after the first half just to get some action. Then they introduce characters out of nowhere and then they never appear again.
If you would like to see good character development and fights with OP powers I would recommend Bungo Stray Dogs.

This anime has an amazing soundtrack, excellent animation, nice though overly done character designs, and good synergy among the three lead characters.
But... The plot is terribly disjointed and a frankenstein of so many other cartoons/animes out there. The entertaining bouts disintegrated into a show of powers half-way through and took away the magic of the semi-traditional martial arts that were on display. If you find yourself watching it and enjoy the parts that it does right in the first half of season one, then stop at episode eight or nine and imagine a fitting conclusion.

For the most part the animation is hands down some of the best hand to hand combat I've ever seen. However there are parts when the majority of the body or whatever is moving will drop out of the frame in order for them to show a close up on something else, leaving you with only the slightest clue as to what is currently happening.
But the most unforgivable part is the handling of the narrative. The first half of episode one demonstrated a remarkable ability to expand bare bones writing into original and extensively detailed scenes. However there was also a pattern of condensing the more detailed parts of the original story into barely comprehensible, hyper-condensed scenes with next to no incite into the characters. The exposition as to how the characters arrived at their current states takes the form of single sentences mentioned in passing. This may be a consequence for the short episode count.
