    I can't see anything

Spent most of time screwing my eyes up to try and see anything happening... why is this filmed mostly in the dark- this does not make a film scary, just annoying and also too much use of a foreboding soundtrack does the opposite of putting you on edge. No script to speak or just very confusing.

    Pretty good flick.

It is not the scariest movie at all but it did have a few moments that definitely did creep me out. Not a low budget, and not a low quality movie. The story kept me guessing until the very end and the acting was very very good as well. If you like movies that are horror mixed with mystery this is exactly what you get in this film.

    Meh...

It's not bad, however, the story jumps around way too much, almost making it tough to know what's going on. I'd say this is more of a thriller and not horror. The cinematography is great, but it's unfortunate that they used some kind of orange and teal filter. Everyone's skin appears orange.

    It was okay...but...

We thought this movie was pretty good. Two cool dude buddies having a "bachelor party" 3-day hike in the snowy Anirondacks, with interference from a ghastly creature. If you watch it, you need to pay attention because of all the flash backs. We gave it only 6 stars because we were totally engaged until the final scene which was incredibly disappointing. We enjoyed the acting and the story a lot.

    A nice little slow burner...

Looks great, sounds great. Just when you think it's going nowhere - Boom! Plot twist after plot twist after plot twist pull you right back in!

Admittedly, it gets a bit confusing in the final act, as the movie jumps back and forth between multiple timelines.

One massive flaw- the 'Wendigo(s)' look ridiculous and basically move around like 'men in costumes'. Other than that, a solid movie!

    • Trivia
Popular culture frequently depicts the Wendigo as a demon/spirit with antlers occasionally portrayed as a human cursed or possessed as a result from cannibalism, it represents an evil embodiment of greed, gluttony and unchecked exploitation of natural resources, serving as a cautionary tale to avoid such behavior. Traditionally the Windego (minus the antlers/horns) was described as a very gaunt, near emaciated human/human form with insatiable hunger, in some stories it grows in proportion to what it consumes to many times the size of humans and thus is always ravenous. Other commin attributes are an overwhelming stench of death, an aura of chilling cold, an ice heart, and tattered or shredded lips/flesh
    • Goofs
Despite the movie being set in the dead of winter, the characters' breath is never visible.
