Reports of his death must have been exaggerated!

I went to a comedy club in Las Vegas a few nights ago and Al Lewis was in the audience glad-handing anyone who recognized him. I remembered him but I don't think I ever knew his name. So, I looked him up on the Google machine. Multiple news outlets (even Wikipedia) reported he died in 2006.

If he WAS born in 1923, as reported, he would be 100. Now I am wondering if he really IS a vampire! You go Al!

Hmm, or is it an impersonator with an uncanny resemblance? It is a mystery wrapped in a conundrum.

Either way, I wish "Grandpa Munster" or "Grandpa Munster Clone II" well with the new show!

    Come on Grandpa, fess up.

Grandpa Munster goes to the movies

This is my tenth favorite horror host TV show, this was one of those ones I honestly never thought would happen, yeah, I have watched "The Munsters" and I do like that show but having a character from that show become a horror host was unheard of.

It turned out to the be the best move, Al Lewis once again puts on the Grandpa Munster persona and he hasn't missed a beat, he's still as funny as before. I thought it was cool that Grandpa Munster got to become a horror host since he's my favorite character in "The Munsters" and it makes perfect sense as he is an iconic figure in the horror community.

Not much to say it's just fun and funny seeing Grandpa Muster host and presents us with the horror film or B picture of the week. The film though for some reason in Grandpa Munsters lab are never stored in the best places, which is kind of strange for the character Grandpa that always keeps his lab in order. But each of the films canasters are buried in a spot or two or mixed up with one of Grandpas piles. I really like the set design as they have Grandpa Munsters lab intact with some new editions over the years.

I really like some of the skits like Slimbo which is a parody on the "Rambo" movies at the time, basically Slimbo is a fake puppet skeleton well he wasn't called that for nothing and it's funny when we see Grandpa Munster with the army helmet on interact with the skeleton. It was sort of a one man show by its nature but it was funny from the things he said and how he interacts with it as if it was a real person.

The only bad thing was this show didn't last very long but same can be said for a lot of other horror hosts shows out there, the ride is short but a sweet ride. So, if you're a fan of "The Munsters" or just simply a fan of vintage horror hosts this is one to check out. This show just like Grandpa Munster may 'be old but is timeless to all fans of horror.
