Devo: (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction

While the original "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" by legendary The Rolling Stones, this version by Devo gets some special mention since it sounds unlike the classic rock song, the bass lines are amazing, and while there's no change in the lyrics and its message of youth dissatisfaction with everything there's always someone or something that what to do and what to follow, the message is spread in a humored manner. And it gets another plus star for having this great music video made by before they become the trend in music industry in the following decade.

With the now known typical and unusual clothing, the glasses and some quirkness the group had in the 1970's and 1980's, they perform the song and there's also some bits involving one of the members trying to please a girl but there's always adults angrily complaining at him - it's more because they include those bits when the lyrics talk about the voices on the radio and on the TV telling what to do and how to act. It's like the take the authority part to a whole new level.

A quite interesting video, pre-MTV so it sure looks strangely dated but not as much as "Freedom of Choice", which came two years after this. It's special and their version of Stones song has to be one of the greatest covers ever made. 8/10.
