There are a lot of gross moments in classic science fiction films. The most vivid sci-fi movies can transport the audience to a place that they've never been before. We feel all the emotions that the characters are experiencing. If a sci-fi movie makes us feel uncomfortable during a climactic scene, that's a good thing! It means that the filmmakers, cast, and crew are doing what they need to do to immerse us in the world.
That being said, there are a few science fiction movie moments that push the boundaries of good taste. It's hard to get the image of the chestburster in "Alien," the creepy bugs in "Snowpiercer," or the murderous alien in "Men in Black" out of your head. Although these moments may have rubbed audiences the wrong way, some science fiction movies required the cast to do even grosser things.
Method acting is a controversial technique.

Tubi continues to expand its adult animated programming, giving a green light to Breaking Bear, an adult animated comedy series from The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia director Julien Nitzberg, Creepshow producer Cartel Entertainment, and Blink-182 frontman Tom DeLonge’s To The Stars Media (Monsters of California).
Created by Nitzberg, Breaking Bear parodies the tropes of mobster dramas, comically combining elements of Yogi Bear with The Sopranos. It follows the escapades of three bear siblings who decide they have to start selling drugs in order to raise money and save their home after gas companies start fracking next to their cave. The bears soon enlist other forest animals in a scheme that will pit them against oil companies, The Russian Mafia, local Hell’s Angels and polar bears who hate anything that isn’t white.

2021 brought us a lot of TV, including many new entries for Science Fiction and Fantasy lovers.
There was plenty of new high-profile Fantasy/Sci-Fi series this year that were a pleasure to watch.
On the other side of things, some returning series continued their reign of popularity.
Check out the list to see if your favorites (or least favorites!) made it!
As always, please share with us in the comments below what you think should've made the list!
Best - Chucky
Chucky doesn't disappoint, invoking cheer and disgust (only the best kind of disgust!).
Bringing back characters from the film series is a load of treats for fans, and the odd use of Chucky actor Brad Dourif's real-life daughter is brave and creative.
It's gore-alicious!
Best - Roswell, New Mexico
After two seasons that were uneven at best, Roswell came back for season 3 and was on top of their game.

When horror audiences are being terrified by jump scares and gruesome on-screen kills, storytelling is usually the last thing on their minds. For the most part, the plotting of a horror movie serves to set up the central conflict before devolving into all-out terror. But in some horror classics, the plotting is one of their greatest assets.

There are a bunch of horror films from the 1980s – one of the most acclaimed decades for the genre – with sharp storytelling. Stanley Kubrick adapted The Shining as a gradual descent into a murderous rage. Sam Raimi’s The Evil Dead created the cabin-in-the-woods trope. Day of the Dead explored new corners of George A. Romero’s zombie-infested post-apocalyptic world.

We had a chance to talk with Christopher Russell, who is currently starring as a source of significant comedic relief on Syfy's Day of the Dead.
You might know him from his many leading roles on female-centric programming on Hallmark and Lifetime, where he often has the opportunity to play the handsome love interest.
Day of the Dead seems like an abrupt change, and I asked Christopher how different it is to immerse himself in such diverse roles.
Since an actor can go to darker places for some roles, Christopher admitted it could stay with you when you leave set.
"They've actually done studies on this; the same brain chemistry that occurs in a real emotional response can happen with an actor if they're convincing themselves to get to a certain place. So, doing the Hallmark and Lifetime movies is a lot better for the psyche, I'll tell you that.

In accordance with its namesake, the new Syfy series“Day of the Dead” is jam-packed with the undead. Meet their maker: Emmy-award winning makeup effects artist Todd Masters.

This ode to George A. Romero’s famous flesh-eaters reminds its audience that sometimes all it takes to bring people together is a horde of zombies trying to rip them apart. This The Walking Dead review contains spoilers.
The Walking Dead Season 11 Episode 6
Clearly, writer Kevin Dieboldt and the various creative crew behind The Walking Dead are Wes Craven fans. The 1991 Wes Craven film The People Under the Stairs was one of the better movies Craven did, and it remains a lot of fun while also being shocking and still having some great scares. “On the Inside” takes that premise, combines it with Mile Flanagan’s Hush, and the end result is one of the most jaw-clenching, teeth grinding episodes of straight-out horror that The Walking Dead has done. Knb doing the special effects on that movie rubbed off on Greg Nicotero and Howard Berger, because not only does the special effects live up to that high standard, the episode itself is a full-on banger of a tribute to the late Wes Craven.
