    Shiny not grimy.

While I definitely am more a rocker than a mod and certainly no skinhead this pro-mod piece was somewhat entertaining. I love movies that take place in 80s Britain so it had that going for it right from the start. The acting was fine and the feel of the 80s was present. Admittedly I lived the 80s in America with the exception of two wonderful weeks in England in March of 1983. But I know the 80s when I see it. I was 13 in 1980 and 22 in 1989 so I grew up in them. The one drawback to this movie was that the grittiness that it promised had an almost made-for-TV shine to it. The grit was more a sheen and the nifty little happy ending was the clincher. All in all it was a diversion that could've been better but wasn't terrible.

    not so modern made...

And the cast aint the most smashy news either, so unless youve been either of the kind of hudlums and villains portraied in this just wihin feature length british drama , you can easily make a pass.

Even though i had an issue with punks in edinbourgh in the late 70's shoving a finger to some walking by the bus i sat on, never even imagining it would stop at the next corner, i had my heart hurdling up my jaws, but faithfully nough the bus drove before the lot caught the bus, never ever after have i shown my fingers to anybody from public transportation.

This is fairly spoken just another semi newie production stuff, the stakes are higher than the means, and its far to much chatter and less action than expected.but it highlights the abuse and powerty issues of great britain in the past very well, so a 4 and a farewell comes from the grumpy old man.

    Shocking

Shocking acting. Not an ounce of charisma or chemistry between the cast. It reminded me of early Grange Hill acting. Wooden at best.

The fake hair on the 'hero'... Blimey!

The one star I've given is obviously the lowest possible, but I would say it deserves that one star because we had a jolly good laugh every time the characters spoke.

The villain was actually very good, but everyone around him dragged him down.

    Glad I stuck with it

I was a little unsure about what to make of this film when I watched the first 10 minutes, I very nearly wasn't going to stick it out. But after deciding to give it a chance, I'm glad I did, because it was a great effort by the filmmakers. Some class tunes, decent acting and a good script. This movie was a nice bit of escapism. Hard nut Terry Harrison has to help his late best friend's little sister as she seems to be doomed to go down the wrong path with a bunch of Skinheads. Then on the other end of the stick, you've got Young mod Frankie in debt with a load of bikers. Nice mix of the two stories. Loved the set up, could have been a bit more grittier, however, I enjoyed it.

    Nicely executed

I found this movie to have some exciting moments. The costumes were ok but the mod costumes needed a lot of improvement - the style wasn't on point. Skinhead and biker costumes were good though. It was a nice script from the writer, had a good story and the acting wasn't bad. A few performances were better than others. Soundtrack was banging - got the adrenaline going. What I think they did well here was nail the 1980's with such a low-budget. From the cars, to the clothes, to the set designs - it was nicely executed. I was hoping for a bit more though. If they get a chance to make a second one, I would make it more grittier - include more violence. But for a first film from these guys, they did well.
