The Pushback was an official selection of SXSW 2020, and slated to have its world premiere in the Documentary Spotlight section, but the entire festival was canceled due to the pandemic. The film was also an official selection of Woodstock Film Festival 2020, as well as El Paso Film Festival, where it won the Audience Award, Best Film, and Best Director awards.
