Ignoring the fact this is Paw Patrol, this pawsome movie stands mighty on its own merits and is a fun, cool, exciting adventure from start to finish. This isn't just 86 minutes of what you get on TV. This is all new, revamped Paw Patrol which has been redrawn in a new style and modernised for its cinema audience. And ifs fantastic.
The story starts off in the familiar Adventure Bay and we are re-introduced to the characters with a typical rescue from Rider and his team of mighty pups. Then the narrative whisks us off to Adventure City where Mayor Humdinger is up to his naughty tricks once more and its up to the Paw Patrol to save the day again.
Its exciting from start to finish and the story is surprisingly good considering its source material. Chase takes centre stage with strong character development that delves in to his origin story and tells you how he became part of Riders rescue team of puppies. The only downside really that I can think of is that we didn't see enough of some of the other pups. It was too focused on Chase who I think is the dullest of the crew but it can be argued this was the point of his story. Rubble brings some comic relief from time to time but nowhere near enough and the likes of Rocky and Zuma are nothing more than background extras. Without giving anything anyway the squad also meet a new pup who serves as a guide to Adventure City and gets second billing after Chase.
The graphics and direction is superb and nothing less than what you would expect from a summer blockbuster animation movie. All of the team get brand spanking new costumes and vehicles and are showcased in the action brilliantly. My 4 year old little girl who is a big fan of the franchise already, loved every moment of it - laughing and clapping throughout and shrieked with glee on more than a few occasions. It even managed to pull on her heart strings and there was a moment i swear I heard a sniffle. By the end she was dancing on the floor in front of us and wanted to stay and watch it again when the credits rolled up.
This movie is an absolute blast and the Paw Patrol certainly are on a roll with this one.

I didn't expect this to be good but It actually had an exciting plot and amazing visuals, it was a fast-paced thrilling adventure and I'd reccomend it.
This film accomplished exactly what it set out to do; it was a fun, summer film that my kids fell in love with. As someone who has seen nearly every episode of Paw Patrol due to my four young children, there were some great callbacks to the series. The animation was fantastic, the music was surprisingly good and there were enough jokes to keep parents invested.
At its core, the film had a great story of overcoming fear and adversity, while also sticking together as a team. The antagonist was oversimplified and lacked depth, but that's what you expect in a children's movie.
Paw Patrol: The Movie not as brilliant as a Pixar film, but it's not unwatchable like some other animated features. The film had a specific target audience, and it nailed its core objective.
Did we have to get a Paramount+ account so my kids could watch it again after seeing it in the theater? Yep.
Have they watched it a dozen times since then? Absolutely.
Do they want to buy all the new "Paw Patrol: The Movie" characters and toys? You better believe it!

My almost 4 year old daughter enjoyed this movie. It had its cute moments but I have definitely enjoyed some other animated films more. This movie is special though because it was the first film My daughter saw in the big theater. My husband and daughter really liked this film and gave it 10/10.
I saw some episodes of the PAW Patrol series when it was just on tv, so I knew what it was about and that kids like watching it and I had no problem with that.
Ryder and the rest of the pups on the team are all likable characters, the animation has improved since the show and is really pretty even the story fits with the theme of the show.
The villain is silly but I can see kids being entertained by it along with fun action and a pretty cool 3rd act, also there are effective emotional scenes.
Its PAW Patrol The Movie, I got what I expected. Its for kids and I can see them really enjoying this even if you have never seen the show you will still like it.

- TriviaFor the role of Ryder, over 1000 young actors auditioned from all over the USA and Canada before Albertan high school student Will Brisbin got the part.
- GoofsWhen Mayor Humdinger first goes to the university to take the Cloud Catcher, the roof opens so that it can fly out. Despite being in the middle of a torrential downpour, no rain comes in through the massive hole in the roof. Moments later, once the Cloud Catcher has done its job, the Mayor stands and basks in the sunlight now streaming through the same hole.
- Crazy creditsThe first portion of the credits are 2D and show Ryder, the pups, and various others on various rescues/adventures. Mayor Humdinger and the Catastrophe Crew (his cats) are shown to have been imprisoned for their crimes. The song "Good Mood" by Adam Levine plays over this portion of the credits.
- Alternate versionsThe Canadian release adds the Elevation Pictures logo before the Paramount logo.
