Like the show except for pompous, interrupting, stuttering Joe Scarborough and excessive sports talk. Maybe redo the show as Morning Mika or even better Wake up with Willie.
I really like Morning Joe but you are starting to lose a loyal listener. It is 6:12 AM and Joe and all are STILL talking about football, which is not unusual. I tune in elsewhere when this happens and will continue to do so. I can get sports at ESPN! This will alienate many viewers if it has not already. Please reconsider this sports content. Those first 12 to 15 minutes is when I decide if I will stay tuned in or switch the channel. Often lately I find myself at CNN due to this excessive spots talking at MSNBC. There are so many outlets for sports and I never see them covering news or politics! Stay in your lane for the sake of your loyal viewers. LC.
I'm a long time watcher of Morning Joe. I've about had it with Joe who just does not seem to know when to shut up. As a regular watcher his repetitive and lame verbiage including his incessant reminders about his time in Congress are to me like nails on a black board. Further he constantly restates the obvious which for the show's well informed audience has to be galling and insulting. Dump the silly banter about sports which seems to have become a regular feature. There are plenty of sports channels.
I have to agree with most of the comments on here that Joe talks TOO MUCH and insists on interrupting everyone and talking over them. It is becoming unwatchable! There are days where you can tell by his smirk that he is doing it on purpose to Mika. It is equally annoying when the guys want to talk sports for the first 5-10 minutes (there are many of us who like sports) and Mika keeps trying to cut them off with "OK...", "OK..." every few seconds. I appreciate Willy's and Jonathan's style and I like most of the guests. Joe, if you ever read this - some friendly advice - CHILL! Let your guests speak. If you have gone on for more than 2 minutes, you have already spoken too much.
I have been watching Morning Joe almost every morning since I retired 8 years ago. Either Joe is becoming more brash, interrupting constantly and barely listening to guests or I'm becoming more intolerant. He often treats Mika with disdain as well as some of the guests unless he really respects them. He actually listens to some of them such as Jon Meachem and a few others with seeming admiration but his favor falls on very few others. Fortunately, I tape the show and watch a little later so I can fast forward through commercials (my original purpose) and now through some of Joe's pontifications (too much time spent on sports, his constant interruptions and his time in Congress. Boring for those of us who have heard it countless times previously!)
I also used to watch Don Lemon on CNN at night but have not yet seen him since him since he's moved to mornings. I have begun to tape his morning show to give me an alternative if needed. I hate to give up on Morning Joe because I enjoy it for the most part. Yesterday Joe was not there so Mika took the lead and it was such a relief! She allows talking among the guests but also knows when to reign it in! She is pure class. I enjoy the regulars such as Willie who is both professional and warm as well as Mike who is very thoughtful. Is anyone saying these things to those in charge at MSNBC?
