Dermot Mulroney is a mysterious figure whose darkness may extend well beyond the surface in Depravity. Having first found acclaim in such smaller dramatic fare as Long Gone and The Thing Called Love, Mulroney would become well-known for his work as the love interest in a number of iconic titles, including My Best Friend's Wedding and New Girl, while also co-starring in the likes of About Schmidt and The Family Stone. More recently, Mulroney has found success with the likes of Scream VI, Anyone but You and Marvel's Secret Invasion.
In Depravity, Mulroney stars as Mr. Evers, a peculiar tenet of an old-fashioned apartment building. Watched closely by his neighbors, Grace and Aria, Mr. Evers is generally seen coming and going at odd times of the night with his Rottweiler in tow, while also having a group of bizarre visitors in and out of his apartment. Victoria Justice and Devon Ross are a pair of college friends who get wrapped up in a dangerous situation in Depravity. Justice first rose to stardom with her tenure on Nickelodeon, first starring in the teen comedy Zoey 101 for seasons 2-4 before going on to lead her own show, Victorious, and has since starred in everything from Fox's Rocky Horror Picture Show remake to the Netflix supernatural comedy Afterlife of the Party. Ross, on the other hand, is an on-the-rise actor, with her breakout role having recently come in the Alicia Vikander-led Irma Vep miniseries.
Justice and Ross star in Depravity as Grace and Aria, two roommates living in a classic old apartment building, though living very different lives, as the former is an outgoing young woman in law school, while the latter is a reserved art lover still processing a traumatic event from her past. Exclusive: Grey Sloan is losing a surgical intern. Midori Francis, who has played Mika Yasuda on Grey’s Anatomy for the last two seasons, is departing the medical drama as a series regular, Deadline has learned. According to sources, Francis is in negotiations to return next season to wrap up the story of her character.
I hear this was an amicable decision. Francis had been looking to branch out for the next step of her career and signed with WME earlier this year. She is the second Grey’s Anatomy series regular who will be departing early next season, along with Jake Borelli who has played Levi Schmitt for seven seasons. Reps for ABC and ABC Signature, which produces Grey’s Anatomy, declined comment.

Can you believe Victoria Justice has been in the Hollywood spotlight for almost two decades? The 28-year-old star got her big break with a role on Nickelodeon's Zoey 101 in 2005, later appearing in iCarly, and starring in Victorious until 2013. Over the years, she's made more than a few memorable red carpet appearances, growing up before our eyes, and now she's starring in Netflix's new comedy Afterlife of the Party, alongside Midori Francis and Spencer Sutherland. In honor of the premiere of Afterlife of the Party, let's take a walk down memory lane and look back at Victoria's Hollywood evolution in pictures.

The former Sony musical Cinderella, starring Camila Cabello, which Amazon Prime picked up the global licensing to (sans China), debuted over the four-day Labor Day weekend notching 1.1M U.S. households according to Samba TV. The pic was dropped on Amazon’s streaming service in 240 countries and territories.
Amazon, based on Screen Engine’s analytics, is celebrating Cinderella as the No. 1 most watched VOD movie over the holiday stretch, while exclaiming that “Cinderella delivered the strongest results as the biggest musical of 2021, second only to Disney’s Hamilton in 2020.”

I went into watching Afterlife of the Party initially thinking it would be a rom-com version of The Good Place, but what I didn't expect was an introspective and heartfelt story about grief and loss. The story follows Victoria Justice's Cassie, a carefree event planner who lives life to the fullest. However, after dying from a freak accident just before her 25th birthday, she begins to realize there is more to life than she originally thought. As she tries to gain access to The Above, she must take care of her unfinished business on Earth, which includes making peace with her former Bff Lisa (Midori Francis), her grief-stricken father, and her estranged mother.
Despite being a comedy, the film is packed with emotional moments as Cassie slowly comes to terms with her sudden death. While it's hard for her to grapple with the fact that she's dead, it's even...

On a Labor Day weekend when “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” exploded to a record $90 million initial four- day gross, Disney also expanded Premium VOD platforms for its $100 million-plus box office “Jungle Cruise” ($29.99). As with other PVOD titles, it’s making a strong debut on multiple charts after an initial Disney+ home exclusive.
“Jungle Cruise” leads at Vudu, which favors higher-priced titles with its revenue tally. Among transactional charts, iTunes has it as #3, with GooglePlay placing it at #5. “The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard” (Lionsgate/$5.99) repeats at #1 at both iTunes and Google, and at #5 is the highest non-pvod films at Vudu. All of this reinforces that Disney can maximize returns from multiple outlets even as films still do well in theaters.
“Don’t Breathe 2” (Sony/$19.99), a surprise PVOD release after three weeks in theaters, is #2 at Vudu, #3 at iTunes, and #5 at GooglePlay. The film fell a modest 18 percent in...

Netflix has dated its fall schedule of film releases, narrative and documentary. The service that promised a new movie each week has a whopping 43 films coming in the final four months of 2021. That is twice the volume of releases most film studios would dream of releasing in a busy calendar year. Can a studio generate that many movies and have most of them be any good? It will be a test of Netflix’s high volume plan, niche and targeted fare sprinkled with big star vehicles including the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio, Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot, Idris Elba, Jonathan Majors, Regina King, Jennifer Lawrence, Adam McKay, Benedict Cumberbatch and more.

In the eyes of most people, becoming an opera singer is tantamount to wanting to become an astronaut or a cowboy. It just seems highly unlikely and one of those pipe dreams that you quickly dismiss as you pursue your business education and begin a smart, sensible career. Well, that seems to be the reaction the main character gets when she explains her operatic dreams in “Falling for Figaro.”

"You have a whole world out there and you are missing it!" Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for a quirky comedy called Afterlife of the Party, featuring Victoria Justice as a "party planner and social butterfly" who heads to the afterlife after a birthday accident. Though he hasn't made much of a mark in the last decade. To say that Netflix's 2021 movie release slate is stacked might be the understatement of the year.
