I think the animation alone deserves a praise for this show. The first sequence, each facial expression and actions scenes are so well done and colors are amazing.
Voice acting is really great. I can't wait to hear more of Ocean Master by Dana Snyder. Gillian Jacobs probably gave one of the most chaotic Mera portrayals so far and felt like listening to her episodes on Comedy Bang Bang (Recommended 100%).
It reminded me of, Spongebob (which clearly was an inspiration for the series) a lot as well. Especially some awkward times or faces in the show really brought those memories watching the show, and were really funny.
Edit: Just finished the second episode and to be honest, it's animation and VA is amazing and just gets better. Doesn't deserve it's 5.9 at all.

Its animation is really great, reminding me of a mix of Ren & Stimpy, Spongebob and Superjail. Though I thought this Aquaman would be more like the Batman: Brave and the Bold iteration (strong loud and dumb), I like the fish out of water, or rather, human IN water take. It just makes what little character development and plot there is more engaging. Always love hearing the voices of Dana Snyder and Tom Lennon. That being said, I don't know what a lot of people were expecting from this, a dark gritty Zach Snyder version? Is it too wacky for the emo edgelords? Not to be insulting, but it's fun to have a off the wall show sometimes with chaotic humor.
There are gonna be a lot of bad reviews saying that this is ruining the character and that it is bad and uninspired, written out of (mostly unecessary) hatred towards thunder cats roar by people that didn't even watch either one of these cartoons.
I understand that this show's humor is not everyone's cup of tea but i quite enjoyed it, at some points it was a bit much but never really got annoying at any point.
The use of colour is really great and works well with the simple cartoony style, that simplicity also makes it possible for the animators to take the stage and make some really fluid and awesome looking fights.
Overall it was a great start to the series and i cant wait to watch the next episode.

The animation is well done, and anybody who says different either has no understanding of how animation actually works, or wanted something completely different and is just holding this show to an unrealistic standard.
Is it a perfect show? No. I had a few problems with the writing, and the overall story and takeaway could have been better, but for the most part I liked the recurring themes and jokes within the first episode. The music and production is awesome, the people who had a hand in the production deserve credit for their hard work on this.
I also liked that even the main protagonists aren't meant to be perfect, each of them have their misgivings and make mistakes, especially Aquaman. To be honest, Aquaman has never been my favorite DC character, and this show made him way more likable and down to earth. If you like Amphibia, Adventure Time, and Steven Universe, you will (probably) like this show.

Utterly ridiculous. Incredibly fun. And despite how goofy this is, i think it is the most interesting take on Mera i've ever come across: completely unhinged and always itching for a fight (but not quite literally insane as she was in the comics for a while), and Gillian Jacobs is hilarious.
If you are bothered by the fact that this is not faithful to the comics or annoyed that it doesn't take the character seriously, you might want to check in on your emotional well being. Go for a walk. Maybe lay off Reddit for a while. Possibly even see a therapist. Being angry at a cartoon is not healthy. Grim and gritty Aquaman is still out there. But wait, can you be gritty underwater though, or does it just wash off?
