This movie is not your typical Filipino love story. It shows how difficult life is overseas and how it affects personal decisions. Even with the given unique setting, you can still relate to the characters and how they deal with their everyday lives and the choices they have to make when it comes to love. It also shows how beautiful Italy is and how welcoming they are to people of different ethnicities.

I was able watch and love the movie 'Milan' 2004. And this 'Malaya' appear like the new generation of Filippinos in Italy, beautiful movie and amazing cinematography!!!
