Velvet's Hiney first appeared on the New York stage in 1995 in Bean's play, "Catfish, Guns and Corndogs: At Play in the Fields of the Trailer Park." The play became a cult hit in downtown New York and ran for two years to rave reviews as well as a successful Los Angeles run in 1997. The original play features Braselman as Velvet.
