Special Note to the cinematography. Cinematographer Shaneil Deo has done quite a great a job for its budget. It shows his experience that he has also done a lot of other successful thriller movies such as Adivi Sesh's Goodachari. The scenes where Nagarjuna is enquiring people and talking, is matched to a Hollywood level thriller. One can say Shaneil Deo has took the film to the next level.
Wild Dog is a manhunt story of catching a criminal through inquiries and action. It is very routine for a investigative story and it might remind you of Akshay Kumar's Baby. Unlike Baby, Wild dog does not have have too many tension building scenes that will thrill you. Although it is plain, the screenplay is very clean cut. This movie would not be possible without Nagarjuna. The director must thank him for giving him the opportunity to direct a non-mass movie with a star like Nagarjuna.
In Depth Analysis:
First 30 minutes: This part is an ok start to the movie. It shows Nagarjuna as a former CIA agent nicknamed Wild Dog. We feel as if this part is too plain. There is no constant curiosity established killing us to see the whole movie. One thing I observed from the movie is that the director tries to establish almost everything with just dialogues. This is very weird since movies are all about SHOWING not TELLING. By only telling, the we don't completely get the feeling of the full intensity established. Luckily for the movie, the rest of it is about to be 10 times better.
Rest of the movie: The rest of the movie is pretty good. It starts out with Nagarjuna doing inquires on finding out who the villian is. The inquires initially start out slow but pick up the pace rapidly making us very involved. Starting from when "Mission Wild Dog" starts, the movie takes a step above. We get the feeling of a thriller that we wanted the whole time. The thing that was lacking at first will finally come. Even though it is very good audience that watches a lot of movies won't find anything new.
Overall the movie is a routine investigative thriller that is lacking at first but as the story progresses and as the movie picks up pace it will thrill you for sure!

Based on actual incidents, this film tells the story of our unsung heroes who, keep their anonymity under wraps, while still defending our country selflessly.
Wild Dog is about how our NIA bravehearts carried out a daring covert operation to nab Yasin Bhatkal from Nepal.
It starts off with the German Bakery blasts in Pune ( all names changed in the film) and how a team of NIA agents lead by Nagarjuna try to locate the perpetrators of this heinous terrorist activity.
After a couple of near misses where the target manages to give them a slip, they finally land up in Nepal based on a tipoff. How they manage to nab him and get him back to India forms the crux of the plot.
This is Nagarjuna's film all the way. At his age Nagarjuna looks extremely fit to play the part of the protagonist & carries the entire weight of the film on his shoulders. Saiyami Kher & Atul Kulkarni play their part decently.
Slick editing, engaging storyline and rivetting action scenes make it a decent watch.
Similar to Akshay Kumar's Baby, but a little low on the tense adrenaline rush moment's that kept us on the edge of our seats.
Adios🙂

This movie is a one time watchable flick. Plot is similar to some movies we already watched. So this not that impressive. If you have lot of free time, you can worth a watch.

A great spy triller attempt from Ahishor Solomon... completely loved the way he handled those motion captures through out the film avoiding all the commercial phrases
And a great choice of characterisation by Nagarjuna.. that never compromising attitude which he carries till the end of the film is impeccable
That intensifying background score by Thaman added more spice to the film
Narration was so quick in 1st half that within few minutes after opening we get into the main plot which leads to the context leaving no space for emotions and basic thriller twists
And abruptly screenplay falls dead slow at pre-interval block
2nd half was well executed in comparison to 1st half
.. The main context of the film is set here
Yet the narration was completely flat with poor screenplay but well managed to escape with that screen time
And the attempt to give a twist in the climax was
not that high
Overall, One-time watchable
Could be a nice experience if you're expectations are low.
Wild dog is a tense action thriller that doesn't relent as soon as the action starts. The set-up isn't something we haven't seen before, but the film is well paced, and Nagarjuna Akkineni is more than capable in the lead role. There's no cliche romance, no singing and dancing, it is about soldiers who feel obligated to do the right thing no matter the cost. A solid film about good guys vs bad guys and soldiers' unrelenting love and devotion for their country.
