Xia Yuan was a detective. He used to be a student of Yang Jianqun who was now his captain. They were majoring on a robbery case. After the suspect was under arrest, they were ordered to solve a case which is about a man called Qian Cheng holding his stock reference Wang Bolin's family as the hostage. He was a director of factory but he now owned the workers over 20 million yuan because his stock went down hardly. After all he jumped off the balcony and died at the scene.

After Qian's death, Wang was busy covering his criminality.He went to Xiao Rong who was Qian's wife and threatened her not talk to the police.At the meantime, Wu Jiaqi who was an unemployed student was investigating Qian for her mother's death.She believed that Wang was relevant to it.Wang found out what she was doing and warned, but she seemed to be careless about that.Later on, Wang hired himself a stock analyst who was called Hao Xiaoqiang.He believed that the stock of his company was still save-able.
