Singh Is Kinng

This is definitely one of the better movies to have been released this year as well as one of the better comedies, which has action, drama and a bit of thriller mixed in with romance.

Happy Singh, who everyone in his village wants to get rid off, even though he wants to ensure that everyone is happy and he helps everyone that he can , leaves his village in the Indian state of Punjab, with his friend Rangeela, who is able to speak some English instead of Happy, to got to Australia to bring back his friend, Lucky. But there's slight hitch en route, as they accidentally end up in Egypt and have to re – arrange everything.

Starring Akshaye Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Kirron Kher, Om Puri, Javed Jaffrey, Sonu Sood, Manoj Pahwa and Neha Dhupia, this is written and directed by Anees Bazmee.

As I have mentioned previously, that this is one of the better comedies this year and Akshaye Kumar along with Om Puri, has again proved his talent in this genre. The same applies to Sonu Sood and Manoj Pahwa. Unfortunately, there's not much comedy involved for Katrina, though she has done a good job where it was required in a couple of scenes. Javed Jaffrey has, once again, put on the same type of accent that he did in "Salaam Namastey" and in which he proved to have done so well. Unfortunately, for him, this is not applicable here at all as he failed to make that impact. However, Sonu Sood was convincing in his role as a "Don." Finally, Kirron Kher! As usual she delivers the perfect role.

There are plenty of flaws and one is that is that if "Happy" is unable to speak a word of English, then how come that he is able to speak some words such as "shut up" and also understands what is being said to him? This is where the writer and the director has made an error. Never the less it is an average good comedy that is worth watching once Oh! Just one last point and that is make sure that you leave your "thinking" grey cells at home and intact.

Story/ Screenplay/ Script:: Long story short - its gone to dogs. End result, the movie is "all form - no beer".

This movie is an another example to prove that star-power coupled with marketing can set the cash register on fire (mini-me of Om Shanti Om?). Overseas I am sure, it has raked moolah in loads. Akki proves that he is second to none when it comes to punching above one's weight.

Akki-Katrina:: Undoubtedly, they share a sizzling chemistry.

Om Puri/ Kiron Kher/ Ranvir Shorey:: These names are synonymous with "powerhouse of talent". It would be an "understatement" to mention that they were grossly under-utilised.

Javed Jaffery:: Why Javed why?

Vipul:: You were fantastic as a director in "Namaste London", why on earth did you hand over the reigns?

Anees Bazmi:: Suggest you go back to writing or follow Priyan's footsteps (of remaking South movies viz. "No Entry"). Needless to say, it would be blessing to the audience.

Akshay Kumar tries his best and occasionally breathes life into 'Singh Is Kinng'. The film is a complete mess. It has such a horrendous beginning that I almost felt I had entered the wrong theater. Akshay then enters and despite the corny jokes, manages to hold our attention. There are some catchy musical numbers. However, the plot is simply too weak and everybody else looks bored. Om Puri and Ranvir Shorey are both VERY disappointing. Katrina Kaif tries to act but doesn't succeed. The ending descends into mawkish melodrama and becomes preachy. The film is best seen at home with ample use of the FF button.

Just came back from preview screening of this movie. Its a Hilarious Comedy, we were literally in fits due to laughter. Akshay Kumar steals the show, nothing unexpected. But from the time he makes an entry, you know this is going to be one roller coaster ride. And he is supported very well by rest of the cast, however Katrina Kaif is there doing what she does the best, look good. She has nothing much to do in the movie. But I feel that this could have been a much better movie, the title of the movie had lot more potential, however I was not expecting much from Anees Bazmee. But yes, if you love Akshay Kumar, and do not might couple of hours of side splitting comedy, then go for it..

SK is has all ingredients which are necessary to hold the interest of the viewers. Some funny one liners, good music and a little amount of romance ,if you have all of these then you will sure that you have a successful potboiler in your hands. Singh is Kinng is not a great film but it's a movie which you can enjoy with your family and friends and believe me it does not disappoint you. Now, SK is the story of Happy Singh who is good for nothing. So the citizens of his village sent him to Australia to convince Lucky (Don) to return his home as his parents are counting their last days.But, circumstances force him to take the place of Lucky and he become king himself.Performance wise Akshay Kumar has given his best , Javed Jaffry and Yashpal Sharma have supported well. Katrina does what she do best ,looking good. Anees Bazmee's direction is good because he does not let down the viewer's interest.Story is unoriginal but convincing.The music is nice almost all songs are good.So, all in all SK is a light-hearted comedy film which can be enjoyed by every kind of viewers because as Akshay Kumar said in this film-- Main toh sach bolta hoon accha apne aap lag jaata hai.
