The Jerk Theory

This film has zero charm or wit (even for a teenage film). The director seems to lack a basic understanding of film conventions, character development and comic timing. The characters are bland and one dimensional.

This film is clearly aimed at the teenage market, but the lack of charm, lame and unbelievable characters and formulaic plot will fail to entertain anyone. Spare yourself and avoid this movie. There are plenty of teenage films that are much more fun.

• Not to mention that this film implies that only one girl in a million isn't a crazy, clingy, bimbo.

I honestly wasn't expecting much when I started watching this movie. It seemed like another cliché chick flick that I would cringe my way through, but, although it was very cliché, the acting was good, the characters were believable, and the way the movie portrayed high school was often spot on. There were also more than a few unique spots throughout the movie where I couldn't help but think "Wow, that's actually pretty clever". The movie did have many faults; Certain important plot points were skimmed over, it got incredibly cheesy at the end, etc., but these didn't distract from the pretty good writing and cliché-without-being-too-cliché vibe it gave out. If you're looking for something meaningful, this isn't for you. But, if you want a fun chick flick that pulls at your heartstrings a little bit, then go right ahead.

This is a nice, light-hearted fun comedy with a good message.

Josh Henderson and Jenna Dewan have great chemistry as leading roles in this romantic comedy and both are wonderful actors. Tom Arnold is hysterical and keeps things hoping with never a dull moment. The casting was really good and I really enjoyed Jesse Heiman as the funny chubby kid that thought he really fit in but just never really did.

This movie has a fun plot and I found myself laughing through most of the movie. Most High School and college students will really relate to the plot. The high school setting was perfect. I very much liked the ending of the film. A bit like a fairytale.

At first i though it would be just another high-school movie but after the first few minutes the movie got me.

The story-line is not extremely unique but yet very catching and enjoyable. Soundtrack really does its job well during all the important and not-so-much-* moments.

About the actors well I must say that they really got a bright future.Not to low nor overreacting just as much emotion and everything as it is needed.Directing is also good and the act (at least to me) is well paced.

One of the few movies i rate 10/10.Recommended for everyone who's looking for nice fresh comedy with good acting and nice soundtrack ;) .

I saw the screening and not only high school students will relate to this movie but everyone will. Its a funny heart warming film that will make everyone laugh. Tom will have everyone rolling. Jesse also has some very funny parts. The way he acts to get a date is just ridiculous but will keep you laughing. We all know someone that fits his character in real life, the kid that never really got it.

Jenna and Josh both were amazing actors and will suck anyone into the story.

I loved the strong ties to music it just made everything that much better. I think the soundtrack will be an amazing album and look forward to hearing it.

I cant wait to see the final version.
