Very interesting story that definitely builds as it goes on to an explosive ending. This film is not for everyone, but I think you'll like it if you like great story telling. A well deserve award-winning film worth your attention.
This feels like a grad-student film. It might impress at college because it looks good and has not-terrible production quality but the acting, writing and horror elements are abysmal. Even funny.
If you like listening to amateur kids garage band demos or enjoy watching other people's bad youtube videos, or your nine-year-old nephew's wonky animation, maybe you should check this out but if you are looking to be entertained for an hour or so don't bother.

I feel for Marjorie DeHey here. The script actually works and she's not bad behind the camera but the production value is very low here, even for an indie. We've all seen more done with much less. It's biggest fault is the absolutely dull and lackluster performance from lead actress Billie Proffitt. She's playing a fairly despicable character and there's plenty to flesh out there but her acting is just terrible, it almost feels like a bad joke. Even the performers in small roles far outshine her. Had a real actress been hired I could see this being a 5 or 6 instead of the 3 I generously gave it . Alcoholic parents raising children is a real issue and a serious one as well. Too bad Proffitt wasn't up to the task of being anything except unlikable. Maybe a viewing of Meg Ryan's work in When A Man Loves A Woman would have been a good start. I hope to see more of DeHey as she sharpens her skills and hopefully next time she can find an actor worthy of carrying her work.
Rarely will I read reviews and never ever write them. The negative reviews here are way to harsh. As an independent film supporter, you have to realize not all films are back by a film studio. With the small number of crew members and with the incredible list of talent, I'd say this is a very good film. Well written and directed by DeHey in what looks like her first feature. Cheers.
This was an interesting pick for my late night horror movie night. As a filmmaker myself, I can see how this film save hundred of thousands of using a real creature instead of CGI. Wonderful cast, wonderful Writing/Directing (Normal rule of thumb is Don't work with kids or animals, and DeHey does both). Not gratuitous with gore or (brief) nudity. A well done independent film.
