Jack Quaid has understandably gathered a lot of attention lately within the film and television world. From his performance as Hughie Campbell in The Boys to his most recent role as Nathan Caine in the newly released film, Novocaine,it is clear that Quaid possesses a talent and charm that entertains audiences. Additionally, within the past five years, Quaid has attached himself to a variety of large projects, including the Scream franchise and Companion. Given his recent successes, it is no surprise that some of his worth-the-watch movies have gotten lost in his expansive filmography.
One of these films is Logan Lucky, a 2017 heist comedy directed by Steven Soderbergh (Ocean's Eleven). The film is packed with stars, including Channing Tatum, Adam Driver, Daniel Craig, Hilary Swank, and many more. With a 92% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes, it is clear that Logan Lucky is just as enthralling as other films in which Quaid has appeared.

Warner Bros has just made some razor-sharp release-date changes ahead of CinemaCon, ones that could potentially keep the Burbank, CA lot more toward the black this year than in the red.
In a year when there were four $100 million-plus auteur-driven movies — one of which, Bong Joon Ho’s Mickey 17, recently misfired — Warners Bros distribution has taken the pressure off the studios’ schedule in that regard, and even placed a potential tentpole into the year: Zach Cregger’s anticipated genre movie Weapons on August 8.
Cregger’s next movie after Barbarian was previously scheduled for MLK weekend 2026, on January 16. What kept Warners from moving the pic starring Josh Brolin, Julia Garner and Alden Ehrenreich was that the theatrical release was tied to Imax screens — can’t give up those auditoriums. In fact, what made all of the release-date changes feasible for Warners was that each was tied to Imax bookings. As...

Not much is known about Scream 7 yet, and perhaps that's a good thing. Scream is a beloved horror comedy franchise built on satire, gore, and surprise slasher reveals at the end. So, part of the fun is having no clue what's happening before the movie starts, but sometimes the biggest teasers come with the cast list. It's no secret that the casting decisions for the Scream franchise have been messy in the past. The first issues arose with the franchise's original star, Neve Campbell, as she dropped out of 2023's Scream VI on less-than-happy terms over a payment dispute she deemed disrespectful.
The story went in a different direction, focusing entirely on Sam and Tara Carpenter, introduced in 2022's Scream. But, then, of course, near the end of November 2023, Scream 7's production company, Spyglass, fired Sam's actor, Melissa Barrera, and subsequently lost Tara's actor, Jenna Ortega, and its director,...

In 2022, Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Media revived the Scream franchise with a new entry (the fifth) that was a box office hit, earning almost $139 million at the global box office. Fourteen months later, Scream VI came along – and became an even bigger hit, pulling in almost $169 million at the global box office, a number that was up there with the series’ heyday, when the first Scream and Scream 2 made just over $170 million. (Scream 3 also made over $160 million – only Scream 4 failed to crack $100 million.) So, of course, the companies are moving full steam ahead with Scream 7. While the movie seemed, initially, to be on the fast-track to success, the track it’s on has turned out to be a shockingly bumpy ride.

Fans may have noticed that a recent Live with Kelly and Mark shared a prerecorded episode for St. Patrick’s Day.
Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos dressed up in green for the event and aired a new host chat, but the interviews were reruns.
Prerecording isn’t new to Live; Kelly and Mark often tape their show Monday through Wednesday and offer new content prerecorded for the Thursday and Friday shows.
This practice offers the veteran hosts time off to work on other projects, such as Mark’s latest role in the new Scream movie.
The reason behind the mini spring break the show is taking this week could be the big move to the new studio at 7 Husdon Square, Disney’s new home in New York City.
As Monsters and Critics reported, Kelly recently filmed the last new show at Live’s original studio, and the following new shows...

Jack Quaid’s Nathan Caine becomes an unwitting superhero of sorts in action-comedy Novocaine, from directing duo Dan Berk and Robert Olsen. Or perhaps more accurately, Nate Caine sustains an insane amount of gruesome bodily damage, all in the pursuit of love.
In the film penned by Lars Jacobson, “When the girl of his dreams (Prey’s Amber Midthunder) is kidnapped, everyman Nate turns his inability to feel pain into an unexpected strength in his fight to get her back.”
That inability to feel pain yields no shortage of bone-crunching, ultra-violent carnage that induces laughs and sympathy pain in equal measure. It also leaves star Jack Quaid doused in blood and viscera yet again. The Boys, Scream, and Companion actor frequently finds himself coated in the red splatter thanks to his recent genre work, so much so that it does play a factor when reading scripts now. “It is a calculation now for sure,...

As soon as Saw X, the tenth entry in the Saw franchise (you can read our review Here), was released in September of 2023, franchise producers were already talking about the potential of a Saw XI. The official announcement came that December, along with a release date: September 27, 2024… but then it was said that the producers and Lionsgate had decided to take a little extra time with this one, Saw XI was pushed back to September 26, 2025. Now, our friends at Bloody Disgusting are reporting that we might not see another sequel in the Saw franchise at all, as a source “close to the production” has informed them that Saw XI has been cancelled!
According to this source, “It’s totally dead. It’s 100% over. Almost a year now.” The source added, “Everything went sideways in January 2024 … the producers started fighting.” One producer attempted to plow forward with the film, but the...

Jenna Ortega’s Marvel past might be one of Hollywood’s best-kept secrets. The 22-year-old, before she became a horror queen in Scream and stole the show as Wednesday Addams, had a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment in the MCU, one that even die-hard Marvel fans probably overlooked.

Scream 7 started filming at the start of January, and we’ve seen some surprising reports about the slasher sequel as it has made its way through production – with the most surprising and strange news being that Matthew Lillard and Scott Foley, who played Ghostface killers who were killed off in Scream (1996) and Scream 3, respectively, and David Arquette, whose beloved character Dewey lost his life in Scream (2022), are all in the cast. During an appearance on Good Morning America, Foley admitted that, like many Scream fans, he isn’t sure how his return actually works.
Foley said, with thanks to Deadline for the transcription, “I don’t know how it works out. Spoiler alert! 25 years ago I was the killer in Scream 3 and he was brutally taken to town and killed. And now I’m back in Scream 7 and I’m not sure how it’s going to work.

The popular slasher series Scream will continue with the upcoming Scream 7. The new installment will bring back a series of beloved legacy characters, as well as many characters who have died in previous installments.
While details about the plot of the upcoming Scream 7 are scarce, the new slasher will feature several returning actors, whose characters have died. Among them are also previous Ghostface stars, who were the serial killers in each installment. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight at the premiere of his latest film, Novocaine, Jack Quaid addressed a possible return to Scream 7.

Modern scream queen Jenna Ortega has been a part of several iconic franchises, given her roles in Scream, Wednesday, and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. If she had her pick to join any franchise she wanted to next, she pointed to the one born from the 1984 horror comedy classic Gremlins.
Per IMDb, Ortega was recently at the South by Southwest Film Festival (SXSW) to promote her new film, Death of a Unicorn. Reflecting on the movies she loved as a child, Ortega mentioned Gremlins, the film that garnered a sequel along with an animated prequel series. She also made it clear she wants to join a potential third Gremlins film if one ever gets made.

"You know what I used to love as a kid? Gremlins," Ortega said. "Gremlins, would love... Gremlins 3? 4? I don't know. Call me!"

Jenna Ortega has carved herself an incredible career since making her first appearance in the MCU – a role that many people forget even exists. Like many actors in Hollywood, Ortega is constantly fielding questions about when she could be making an appearance in Marvel’s mighty machine, and naturally, that led her to remind them that she had a small role in Iron Man 3.
Ortega has been promoting her new movie, Death of a Unicorn, which also stars an MCU veteran, Paul Rudd. While being asked about the possibility of joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe with so many new characters set to be introduced – essentially a whole roster of X-Men – Ortega once again explained how she has already been in the franchise, even though her role was reduced from what it could have been. She told Entertainment Tonight:
“I did it once. It was one of the first jobs I ever did.

Actor Jack Quaid has experienced commercial success before, with the hit fifth film in the Scream series, and, more recently, with the horror film Companion. He also played a memorable supporting role in Christopher Nolan’s Best Picture-winning biopic Oppenheimer, not to mention the legions of admirers that he has accrued thanks to a lead role in the Prime Video series The Boys. But this week’s Novocaine marks his debut as a studio leading man. The Paramount movie claimed the number one spot at the domestic box office in its debut weekend, while seeing a mixed response internationally.

Jenna Ortega is leaving her Marvel experience in the past. The actress recently reflected on her brief, uncredited role in Iron Man 3, making it clear that she has no plans to return to the franchise.
During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Ortega was reminded that she had technically already been part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. “I did it once,” she said. “It was one of the first jobs I ever did. While plot details remain under wraps for it, Paul Rudd has shared some insight into how the new Anacondafits into the franchise. Originally kicking off with the Ice Cube and Jennifer Lopez-led film of the same name, the horror movie series has since comprised of a standalone sequel, two back-to-back sequels, a Lake Placid crossover and Chinese reimagining. Development on the Anaconda reboot was revealed in early 2020, with Rudd and Jack Black joining to lead the movie's ensemble cast in mid 2024 and filming beginning in January 2025.
During a recent interview with Collider for his upcoming A24 horror-comedy Death of a Unicorn, Rudd was asked about what audiences could expect from his Anaconda reboot. In looking specifically at how the movie connects to the wider franchise, Rudd confirmed it won't be a direct remake of the cult classic original horror title, instead following a group of characters who are "certainly inspired" by the original.

Regarding the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Jenna Ortega has actually been there, done that.
The Wednesday actress recalled filming a small role in 2013’s Iron Man 3 after Entertainment Tonight told her during a recent interview, “I’m hoping that we can get Jenna Ortega into the Marvel Universe.”
“I did it once,” Ortega responded. “It was one of the first jobs I ever did. They took all my lines out. I’m in Iron Man 3 for a quick second. I take up the frame, I have one leg and I’m the vice president’s daughter.”
Her Death of a Unicorn co-star Paul Rudd, who is also an MCU veteran, chimed in with his hopes that Ortega will someday return to Marvel.

Over a decade after she appeared in a nonspeaking role in Iron Man 3, Jenna Ortega answered whether she would join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The actress skyrocketed into fame after playing the title role in Wednesday, as well as appearances in the Scream and Beetlejuice franchises. She's become a favorite among audiences, especially young adults, so it's natural to wonder when she'll be suiting up in a property as popular as the MCU.
When an interviewer from Entertainment Tonight quipped that she should join the MCU, Ortega reminded her that she "did it once." She then explained: "It was one of the first jobs I ever did. They took all my lines out. I’m in Iron Man 3 for a quick second. I take up the frame, I have one leg, and I’m the vice president’s daughter." Even the most devoted Marvel fans may not know of starlet Jenna Ortega’s role in the MCU — something the Death of a Unicorn actress recently reflected on as a seemingly one-and-done experience.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight alongside co-star Paul Rudd, the Scream actress responded to the reporter’s hopes of her joining the blockbuster franchise.
“I did it once,” Ortega said of being in the MCU. “It was one of the first jobs I ever did. They took all my lines out. I’m in ‘Iron Man 3’ for a quick second. I take up the frame, I have one leg and I’m the vice president’s daughter.”

It's hard to imagine that over 20 years have passed since audiences all around the world were first introduced to the diverse group of passengers of the ill-fated Flight 815 in the 2004 cultural phenomenon Lost, a mind-bending sci-fi supernatural series that focuses on the traumatized survivors as they find themselves stranded on a mysterious tropical island in the South Pacific. Touting a stacked ensemble cast led by Matthew Fox, Evangeline Lilly, Josh Holloway, and Naveen Andrews, the smash hit original has widely been regarded as one of the greatest television shows of all time, running for six spellbinding seasons.
Party of Five alum Matthew Fox famously headlined the sci-fi staple, portraying the brilliant-yet-haunted surgeon Jack Shephard, who swiftly emerges as the de facto leader of his fellow survivors and experiences an epic spiritual transformation throughout the course of the acclaimed series. However, it's hard to imagine anyone other than Fox as the capable Jack.

One of the joys of the post-John Wick era of action movies is the fact that many actors who you would not consider to be action stars are getting the chance to be ass-kicking heroes. It is a lot of fun to see an actor like Jack Quaidget the opportunity to lead an action comedy like Novocaine. Quaid has proven to be a very charismatic star with The Boys and Scream, but his self-deprecating sense of humor isn’t the type of perspective that is generally seen in the genre. The movie features some of the most creative kills and setpieces in recent memory, all while being able to lampoon a long-standing issue in action cinema, in which the main characterappears to be impervious to danger.

Jenna Ortega became internationally famous when she took the titular role in Netflix's hit Addams Family spin-off, Wednesday. While the actress has long certified her status as a scream queen, few people remember she had her big feature role in a Marvel film.
Ortega's name is now tied to several horror films, and she has proven her acting talents in many darker projects. However, her first feature film was 2013's Iron Man 3. The actress played a very small role as a child actor, playing the daughter of the U.S. Vice President (played by Miguel Ferrer), and appeared briefly on the screen. With rumors about her joining the MCU, Ortega didn't show much interest in the superhero world when speaking to Entertainment Tonight.

Thanks to breakout roles in the Scream revival, Netflix's Wednesday and last year's Beetlejuice sequel, Jenna Ortega is fast becoming one of the most sought-after young actors in Hollywood, so it didn't come as much of a surprise when rumors started doing the rounds online that she is being courted by Marvel Studios.
A couple of different scoopers have reported that Ortega is being considered for a big Marvel Cinematic Universe role, though we were never given any indication of which character she might have been eyed for.
Of course, even if Marvel is interested, there's no guarantee that the Death of a Unicorn star will bite - especially since she already made her MCU debut, and it doesn't sound like she had the most positive experience with the studio!
Though she only appeared on screen very briefly, Ortega played the Vice President's daughter in 2013's Iron Man III.

Wednesday Season 1 premiered on Netflix to huge acclaim in 2022. The Addams Family spin-off series starring Jenna Ortega is the most-watched title in the English language on Netflix and the anticipation for the upcoming Season 2 is high.
The new season will have many returning faces, but it will also feature pop star and actress Lady Gaga. So far, Gaga's role in the popular TV series is kept under wraps, and Ortega refused to give any information about it. However, when speaking to Entertainment Tonight, the lead actress teased that her character is nothing like people expect.
Asked about whether Wednesday Season 2 will feature another iconic dance scene, especially with Gaga joining the cast, Ortega shared, "It's crazy. There's definitely dances in the show, is that terrible?" Wednesday Season 1's dance to the song "Goo Goo Muck" by The Cramps became a cultural movement, with the titular character's dance going viral and being recreated online many times.

When it comes to physical media, there always has to be a concern for degradation. We saw it with VHS, Cassette Tapes, and Laser Discs. Eventually they become unwatchable. DVD was supposed to fix that issue, giving us the same experience each time, and with a much longer shelf life than laser discs (which are currently dropping like flies). And judging on Bumbray’s article about Warner Bros titles, the issue is as present as ever. But those are DVDs. That’s two whole generations ago and there’s a reason we’ve since switched! What about Blu-rays?
Blu-rays were actually made with the intention of lasting 100 years. But that doesn’t mean that there aren’t issues that spring up. Any discs that have two layers, such as Bd-50s (which have 50 Gb of storage versus 25 Gb for standard) are more likely to degrade as...

Jack Quaid of The Boys fame has only gone from strength to strength. The 32-year-old, who first appeared in The Hunger Games, has carved out a reputation for himself in the superhero genre. But there is more to him than just that.
Quaid hasn’t shied away from giving any new venture a swing. His latest, Novocaine, is no different. The action/thriller is yet to hit theatres but has already proved that fans and critics are buying it.
Jack Quaid hasn’t turned back since starring in The Boys Jack Quaid has established himself with The Boys || Prime Video
While The Hunger Games was not the first big break Jack Quaid would have hoped for, The Boys took him to the next level. Hughie Campbell seemed to have been made for the 32-year-old.
The comic timing and drama he brought to the project were a breath of fresh air for the fans.

Kevin Smith’s Jay and Silent Bob characters are famous for popping up in movies like Clerks, Mallrats and Dogma. But the stoner duo also exist within the fictional worlds of Star Wars, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the Scream franchise, as evidenced by the most baffling moment from Scream 3.
But now Jay and Bob are set to crossover with a most unexpected pop-culture property: Archie. Per The Hollywood Reporter, an upcoming “double-sized” comic book titled Kevin Smith Presents: Archie Meets Jay & Silent Bob will find the Riverdale gang crossing paths with the residents of the View Askewniverse — and presumably learning some new four-letter words in the process.
Weirder still, the book takes place after the events of Clerks III, in which (spoiler) protagonist Dante Hicks dies of a heart attack. According to Smith, who penned the comic, “Archie plays a role in the healing (process),” adding, “not only...

'Scream 7' Cast Changes: 7 Actors Returning, 11 Newcomers Join Cast, But 3 Major Stars Won't Be Back
Nearly a dozen actors have been added to the Scream franchise for the upcoming seventh movie and several OGs are even coming back for the next film.
Kevin Williamson, who wrote the screenplay for the first Scream movie and later created the series The Vampire Diaries, is taking over directorial duties for the next movie.
Neve Campbell, who plays Sidney Prescott, signed on for the project earlier this year after skipping the sixth movie due to a dispute over her salary.
The cast for the movie has gone through some major changes due to some behind-the-scenes drama involving the studio and some actors. While some fan-favorites will return, others are not coming back. Plenty of new faces are being added!
Scream 7 will be released in theaters on February 27, 2026.

It’s time to get Freaky again as the first trailer for Freakier Friday has hit and taking us back to the 2000s for another Disney sequel.
The “nostalgia sequel” has been a big trend in Hollywood lately. Studios have enjoyed producing sequels to past films of the 1990s or 2000s with the same actors reprising their roles amid new stories. They can range from the Scream series to Ghostbusters: Afterlife and more and are an easy way to get fans nostalgic.
Now, Disney is leaping into it with Freakier Friday. The 2003 film was one of the bigger hits of that year, another adaptation of the best-selling book about a mother and daughter who swap bodies on a Friday.
In this case, Jamie Lee Curtis played Tess, a psychologist clashing with her punk rock daughter Anna, played by Lindsay Lohan. Thanks to a magical fortune cookie, the two swap bodies...

It’s been more than two decades since Felicity ended its four-season run in 2002, and fans wanting a revival of the WB romantic drama series may not want to hold their breath. Per Deadline, Scott Foley, who played Noel Crane in all 84 episodes of Felicity, addressed the possibility of a reboot in an appearance on Good Morning America.
GMA co-host Michael Strahan asked Foley, who was appearing on the morning show to promote his new role on the ABC series Will Trent, if he would be up for starring in a Felicity reboot, indicating that the show’s titular character, Keri Russell, said she would be willing.
“Of course I’d do it. My question to you, Michael: I’m going to be 53 this year. I feel like the Felicity reboot window may have passed.” Strahan replied, “It’s Felicity of the future.” Foley then joked, “It’s Cocoon Felicity,...

Movies are a love language. When you stop to think about it, it’s a grand gesture for hundreds of people to put years of effort, time, and sacrifice into making something for you. On a tangential level, to crib from Roger Ebert’s wise words, movies are an “empathy machine.” We’re allowed to feel some sense of, if not love, then at least compassionate understanding. I’d argue this ability to feel empathy is not limited by genre or subgenre. This is not to say that every movie invites empathy, but rather that it can be found regardless of the aspects that make up the genre.
And yes, that even includes what Ebert called “Dead Teenager Movies,” more commonly known as the slasher film. As recent entries in the subgenre have proven, there’s plenty of compassion to be squeezed from the slasher genre as well. You may...

Lilo and Stitch trailer nearly breaks Disney record
Disney unveiled the Lilo and Stitch trailer on March 12, and in just 24 hours it amassed 158 million views, which was the second most for a live-action Disney film, behind only 2019's photorealistic The Lion King. It ranked as the No. 1 trend on Twitter and YouTube. Does that bode well for the film's box office when it's released on May 23? Well, The Lion King remake ended up grossing $1.66 billion worldwide.
Lilo and Stitch, based on the 2002 animated film, is about a friendship between a Hawaiian girl and a fugitive alien. It's directed by Dean Fleischer Camp and stars Sydney Elizebeth Agudong, Billy Magnussen, Tia Carrere, Hannah Waddingham, Chris Sanders, Courtney B. Vance, Zach Galifianakis, and newcomer Maia Kealoha.

Scott Foley teased his return to the Scream franchise for the seventh installment despite his character’s death.
Foley’s first film credit was in 2000’s Scream 3 where he played the role of Roman Bridger, who turns out to be the serial killer and is killed off in the end. The actor returns for Scream VII and in an appearance on Good Morning America he teased his character’s return.
“I don’t know how it works out,” Foley said about returning to the franchise. “Spoiler alert! 25 years ago I was the killer in Scream 3 and he was brutally taken to town and killed. And now I’m back in Scream 7 and I’m not sure how it’s going to work.”
Foley said that reuniting with his former co-stars was “the best,” adding, “It’s so much fun and I got to see Neve [Campbell] again and David Arquette again.

A great villain can make or break a film and they have been a staple of storytelling since the dawn of cinema. There have been hundreds of incredible, iconic villains audiences have loved to hate. Some movies are even so rich as to have more than one of these incredible foes.
Villains can be used to gain a different perspective, or sometimes simply be agents of chaos to shake up the tale. No matter what, villains add so much flavor to a film, and more than one can be even more fun.

If horror movies have taught us anything it’s this: Don’t go anywhere. Don’t leave your house, and if you do leave your house, don’t leave your hometown. And if you do leave your hometown, don’t go out to the middle of nowhere. And if you do go out to the middle of nowhere and someone asks you all to surrender your cell phones, skip to the end and run away in terror right now. It’ll save everybody — you and the killer cultists included — a lot of bother.
Writer/director Mark Anthony Green’s “Opus” is the latest in a long line of films where city folk are invited to somewhere creepy, ignore obvious red flags for most of the runtime, then have the audacity to act surprised when scary things happen. Specifically this is the creepy cult version, where everyone they meet is a...

Jenna Ortega, star of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Wednesday, and 2022's Scream and its sequel, Scream VI, has revealed the next iconic franchise she would love to join, and it's a beloved '80s horror classic. Speaking to IMDb on the SXSW red carpet for the premiere of her new movie, A24's Death of a Unicorn, Ortega shared her hopes of one day sharing the screen with the monstrous Mogwais from the Gremlinsmovies for a feature film revival, which, at this point, is 35 years on from the chaotic creatures last cinematic outing.
The revelation came in a video (below) when Ortega was asked about which mythical creature from her childhood she would like to see have a moment in the spotlight again. Perhaps not the best to be exposed to bright lights, but the actress landed on the scene-stealing furballs from the Gremlins franchise. "You know what I used to love as a kid?...

Sony’s 3000 Pictures label is reportedly putting together a new Single White Female film – Jenna Ortega and Taylor Russell will star.
While the title might get an update, 1992’s Single White Female is reportedly getting the remake treatment at Sony’s 3000 Pictures Label. According to The InSneider, the psychological thriller has been plucked from the vaults and is being redeveloped as a project for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice's Jenna Ortega and Bones And All's Taylor Russell.
The original film hails from 1992, one of Hollywood’s greatest decades for thrillers. Directed by Barbet Schroeder, the film starred Bridget Fonda as a New York software designer who puts out an ad for a female roommate. After accepting a young woman played by Jennifer Jason Leigh, things start to go sideways when her new acquaintance begins to exhibit some rather disturbing behaviour.
The film was a commercial success at the time, earning $84.1 million from a $16 million budget.
