Polish filmmaker Bartosz M. Kowalski, known for his works ‘Hellhole’ and ‘Nobody Sleeps in the Woods Tonight’, is gearing up to thrill audiences with his latest horror fantasy film, ‘Night Silence’.
The recently released teaser of the film takes viewers into the eerie confines of a nursing home where monsters begin to prowl, reminiscent of the haunting atmosphere in Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Pan’s Labyrinth’.
The plot revolves around Lucjan, a retired actor portrayed by the late Maciej Damiecki. Lucjan finds himself temporarily placed in a countryside nursing home by his son while his house undergoes renovations.
Initially hesitant, Lucjan’s apprehensions are soon put to rest by the warm reception from the home’s staff and residents.
However, peace is short-lived as a series of murders and terrifying nightmares plunge the nursing home into chaos, forcing Lucjan to confront a grotesque threat.

In horror “Night Silence,” Polish director Bartosz M. Kowalski follows retired Lucjan (Maciej Damięcki), moved into a nursing home by his son. The residence is hiding a secret, but the film took on another “terrifying dimension” after they wrapped the shoot.
“Maciej played a dying actor and unfortunately, this story turned out to be true,” Kowalski tells Variety. Damięcki passed away last November, before the premiere. He was posthumously awarded for his performance at the Polish Film Festival.
“It was emotional for all of us,” admits the director.
“I quickly understood he had to play the main character. It was love at first sight. On set, I worried the subject we were tackling might be difficult for him and for most of our actors, who were over 80. But Maciej always joked a lot, sang and even danced between takes. He didn’t get to see it, which is very painful for me.

Netflix strikes again with an under-the-radar horror film. Hellhole is a 2022 Polish exorcism movie that has finally been seeing more light of day thanks to the algorithm. Initially released in October 2022, Hellhole is directed by Bartosz M. Kowalski who had success with his horror comedy Nobody Sleeps in the Woods Tonight in 2020. The original title, Ostatnia Wieczerza means "The Last Supper," foreshadowing the religious elements of the film. The movie is a gruesome and jaw-dropping example of how Polish horror, when it finally slashes its way into more mainstream media, is not intended for those with weak stomachs.

Dead by Midnight (Y2Kill) is the unexpected follow-up to Dead by Midnight (11pm Central). And I say unexpected because despite being a fun collection of stories, it pretty much stayed under everyone’s radar. But enough people did see it that a second film got greenlighted, and with a big enough budget to include a couple of genre heavyweights.
The film opens with The Mistress of Midnight sitting around hell, googling for reviews of the first film and unleashing her wrath on those who didn’t give it a thumbs up.

Waking up in the middle of the woods, the group look to an ominous old shack for assistance. If you’re still looking for a horror movie to watch tonight, then Netflix‘s His House may be a good option. The thriller from Remi Weekes is already doing well with audiences and critics, to the extent that it’s now the fifth most-watched film on the platform in the United States. What, then, can we attribute His House‘s success to?
Well, tackling the refugee crisis, Weekes’ picture benefits from a timely story by Toby Venables and Felicity Evans. The plot focuses on Bol (Sope Dirisu) and Rial (Wunmi Mosaku) as a South Sudanese couple forced into a dangerous journey to the UK, one that ends up with them being housed in a London building that holds disturbing secrets. Despite trying to assimilate, Bol has to deal with the ghosts of their past and how they’ve followed them to their new home.

A few movies may have been scared off by the pandemic (like Blumhouse’s “Halloween Kills” and MGM’s “Candyman” reboot), but Hollywood’s spooky season comes to a crescendo all the same this weekend with several new horror offerings.
While Sony is charging $24.99 to rent its watered-down teen-witch sequel “The Craft: Legacy,” theatergoers can see Amblin-produced haunted-iPad chiller “Come Play” in theaters for less. Paramount is giving audiences a choice with hoodoo horror movie “Spell”: See it in theaters or via PVOD.
Netflix subscribers have options as well, with new releases including Sundance midnight movie “His House” and Polish import “Nobody Sleeps in the Woods Tonight.”
To recap the other horror options that have come out this month, there are four “Welcome to the Blumhouse” movies on Amazon. Hulu had “Bad Hair” and “Books of Blood.” “Saw” co-creator Darren Lynn Bousman made “Death of Me,” while “Final Destination...

Netflix is adding a ton of great titles over the next seven days. From Monday to Sunday, the streaming giant is unleashing some new Halloween-related originals for you to dig into as we approach October 31st, while it’s an usually busy weekend for the site, too, as Sunday marks November 1st, meaning a load of newly licensed movies and shows are being added to Netflix’s library.
Unfortunately, they aren’t bringing us anything fresh on Monday or Thursday, but the rest of the week is well-stocked. As you can see below, Tuesday the 27th delivers three new originals. The highlight of that day’s haul, though, has to be Blood of Zeus, the much-anticipated anime-style series that’s adapting classic Greek myths. Jason O’Mara, Jessica Henwick and Claudia Christian star.

We have a brand new trailer for Vampires Vs. the Bronx. This is set to be part of Netflix's "Netflix and Chills" lineup for Halloween. The streaming service has a bundle of original movies and TV shows coming our way for the spooky season, which should help since many of the typical, annual activities will likely not be happening in 2020. In this case, we have a new vampire flick that sees a group of teenagers going toe-to-toe with the bloodsucking undead creatures. But there is also some clear-cut social commentary going on here as well.
The trailer opens with Gloria, played by Imani Lewis, streaming live from her corner of the Bronx. She marvels at a young man who is just trying to "save the neighborhood," while also questioning the number of missing person flyers that have been posted across her borough. We quickly learn that these missing people...
