Netflix is adding over a dozen new titles to its inventory this week. From new seasons of current hits to topnotch sleeper movies, you can find something for everyone this week on your favorite streaming service.
No, there isn't anything coming this week that's likely to have the same impact as the number one show, Adolescence. By the way, it's every bit as good as the critics say it is. Okay, maybe one show will. But it really isn't likely that anything debuting this week will knock The Electric State out of its top spot among movies. I believe the critics are just as wrong about the sci-fi movie as they are right about the top-ranked drama.
But that's a discussion - or diatribe - for another time. For now, let's delve into the various worlds of zombies, hip-hop, reality shows, and comedy coming up this week. No, that's not all one show,...

Streaming services are giving many titles a second life after some of them didn't manage to get the popularity they wanted. This time, it's Halo's turn.
Paramount+ premiered an adaptation of the popular video game in 2022 after a long production. Development for the Halo series began in mid-2013, and it took almost a decade for the series to materialize after several delays. Per Tudum, Halo has become a global hit on Netflix despite its early cancelation on Paramount+.
For the week between Mar. 3 and 9, Halo Season 1debuted on Netflix's global charts at No. 4. It received 4.2 million views and 32.1 million hours viewed. Halo was just behind Kate Hudson's Running Point, Robert De Niro's limited series Zero Day, and Toxic Town.
Halo became the No. 1 show in 8 countries and reached the Top 10 in 44 countries across the globe. In the U.S., Halo is exclusively streaming on Paramount+, a streaming service owned by Paramount Global,...

Netflix's next new video game anime is adding a hint of '00s metal edginess to the mix, as the newest trailer for Devil May Cry included the one Papa Roach song that even your grandma knows. Netflix has already found astounding success adapting popular video games into animated shows, with Castlevania and Arcane being two of the most celebrated video game adaptations of all time. Devil May Cry is pushing the streamer into a new genre, and that genre is nu metal.
The latest trailer for Netflix's Devil May Cry anime has Dante saying "I work better with music," before setting the trailer to one of the most iconic '00s metal songs. Papa Roach's "Last Resort" scores the demon-slaying trailer that highlights Devil May Cry's gorgeous-looking action. The anime is set to release on Netflix on April 3, 2026, and will run for 8 episodes in its first season.

Is Hailee Steinfeld pregnant?
Late last year, Josh Allen and Steinfeld’s engagement made headlines.
Their relationship even drew comparisons to a more high-profile celebrity-sports crossover romance: Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.
Now, fans are offering the couple their congratulations for the baby on the way.

Buffalo Bills quarterback and reigning NFL Mvp Josh Allen is so well known that his name was cropping up outside of sports circles even before his relationship with actress and singer Hailee Steinfeld became public.
Admittedly, a non-football viewer might have just heard about him because he’s unusually handsome. But that’s not a bad reason to be famous.

In only its first three episodes, ArcaneSeason 2 has already changed the series significantly. The main characters are going down unexpected new paths, far more elements from League of Legends are being introduced, and the animation is even more stylistic and complex than Season 1. However, one of the coolest and most interesting differences about Arcane Season 2 revolves around the character arcs being introduced.
Vi, Jinx, Caitlyn, Ekko, Mel, Viktor, Jayce, and several others from the first season are joined by a host of amazing characters in Arcane Season 2. Although the main cast of heroes is ultimately responsible for altering the narrative's flow, these new characters also play critical roles in the series. The conclusion of Arcane after Season 2 doesn't mean that fans will never get to see these individuals again, although it does make it extremely unlikely.

Arcane'sfinale left many fans heartbroken, as many of the Netflix series' beloved and complicated characters had been killed off or simply vanished in the aftermath. Known for dissecting human nature, by the series' conclusion, it is hard to say if there were any clear villains. Some characters could be said to be villainous, but at their core, they were motivated by human reasoning that pushed them to do incredibly noble things or acts so violently that they had become an enemy. Yet, when the dust settled, one of the show's most amoral characters walked away the clear victor: Singed. The twisted scientist had been working in the background for years, working alongside those in power to further his mysterious goals.
It's no exaggeration to say that his actions helped trigger many of the major conflicts in the show, even if he was more of a facilitator than an actual instigator.

We all know that the Fallout franchise is one of Bethesda’s crown jewels. Despite that, it’s been almost a decade since we last saw a mainline Fallout title. If this was any other franchise, it would’ve been bombarded with multiple entries.

However, Bethesda fans are used to waiting for years between games. Certainly, Fallout 5 is still years away from hitting the shelves. However, Microsoft isn’t keen on that kind of development cycle, as it doesn’t want the Fallout hype to die and the next game being dead on arrival.

When we talk about the cool characters in anime, our thoughts usually go toward the two white-haired characters, Gojo Satoru and Kakashi Hatake. This is because back when anime characters had a myriad of emotions and development arcs, it was hard for a character to be cool purely.
Gojo vs Miguel in Jujutsu Kaisen [Credit: Mappa]
When someone says cool, fans just assume that it means ‘different versions of strong,’ but that is not the case. Kakashi had shown that you can be cool and have an admirable character (and have a lot of character development) at the same time.
Why Dante stands out from the other characters
Gojo Satoru is probably the most popular anime character in recent times. With his style, flair, and charm, Gojo captured the hearts of millions of fans across the world. But this may change and Gojo and Kakashi could be replaced by another white-haired character.

Although one could easily dismiss it as just another video game adaptation, Arcanehas now emerged as one of Netflix's most popular animated series and is loved by many. Initially announced at the League of Legends anniversary celebrations in 2019, the first season of the show premiered in November 2021. Arcane was renewed for a second season the same month, with Season 2 taking to screens in November 2024.
Created by Christian Linke and Alex Yee, Arcane has firmly cemented itself in the history of television with an impressive accomplishment on Rotten Tomatoes. In a feat that only a handful of works have achieved, both season one and two of Arcane have a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Audience ratings, although not perfect, follow closely. Season 1 of Arcane holds a 94% by viewers, while Season 2 lags slightly behind with 84%. However, from an overall perspective, what Arcane has achieved is nothing less than impressive.

Takehiko Inoue is often praised for his basketball opus Slam Dunk, but his Seinen manga Vagabond is second to none. It takes the cake in terms of its art, storyline, and character designs. It stands as one of the top rated manga on My Anime List, but the series may have found its archnemesis after all.

Not Berserk, but another Seinen manga is brilliantly breathtaking in its art and plot and deserves its place in The Louvre. And while it stands as one of the underappreciated gems in the genre, it hasn’t yet been adapted by any studio. This also applies to Takehiko Inoue’s samurai masterpiece.

Everyone needs to brighten up their day sometimes, and the best way to do that is by adding some decoration in your living space or office. If you're looking to treat yourself, turning a blank wall into a canvas that pays homage to your favorite corners of pop culture is one of the easiest methods to improve your mood.
There are also all those times when you need to find a perfect gift for someone. If your loved ones are into video games, movies, and TV shows -- which, let's face it, is likely the case -- finding unique gifts can be very tricky. Gift cards are impersonal, and no one wants to be the embarrassing relative who buys someone a scratched PS1 copy of "Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes back" when they really wanted "Elden Ring" for PS5. Everyone has one of those cringeworthy gift stories.
Fortunately, it's possible...

We can all agree that Blizzard is one of the most famous and well-known names in the video gaming industry. This company has given us some incredible franchises that have played a huge role in shaping the gaming landscape. However, the last couple of years have been a rollercoaster for Blizzard.
Blizzard can’t catch a break from failures. (Image via Microsoft)
From notable controversies to high-profile departures since 2018, Blizzard has dealt with a lot. It doesn’t help that its recent decisions have also ruined its legendary games, such as Overwatch. Many in the community believe that the hero-shooter is at a point of no return. However, it’s not the only franchise that the company has tanked.

The legend of Hayao Miyazaki is something that nearly everyone who knows anything about the anime business is aware of. I personally am a fan of the Japanese creator and his marvelous works that have escalated his fame by earning him major accolades like the Academy Awards. And among those many marvels, the one that I love the most is Howl’s Moving Castle.

The film holds a special place in my heart because it combines the wonders of technology and the thrill of magic together to make a wonderful story that revolves around war. It is one of the greatest projects by Miyazaki, and the level of fame it has earned is reflected by the fact that other anime series have paid homage to it in their own way.
I recently witnessed this when I was enjoying a similar series that combined technology and magic: Arcane.

The Motion Picture Sound Editors’ 72nd Golden Reel Awards were handed out Sunday night at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles. Nominated by members of the organization, the Golden Reel Award celebrates the creative endeavors in sound editing across feature films, student films, broadcast, gaming and interactive media.
“We are all practitioners of this invisible art of sound. Sound isn’t seen or touched, and as a result, our craft is often overlooked. But we know sound is both physical and metaphysical, and we love playing between the realms of sound’s physical properties and the emotional impact it can have on an audience,” Mpse President David Barber said at the ceremony, emphasizing the importance of below-the-line recognition. “That’s not to say that people don’t, can’t, or won’t [champion] sound, but if they’re not aware of what we do, how can we expect them to appreciate it?...

For data nerds – it’s our favorite time of the year – the second half of 2024 viewing data has just been released! We’ve got a lot more to come, but what are the most-watched movies and series of the second half of the year? Let’s dive straight in.
What are the key points that Netflix has cited as being the most important for this data drop? Netflix reiterated that Engagement (time spent watching) is the best metric to gauge member satisfaction and that this data drop covers ~99% of all video watch time on Netflix and that no single title accounts for more than 1% of total Netflix viewing.
Squid Game S2 had the most hours viewed (0.7% of total viewing), and their total watch time for this period of July to December 2024 was 94B hours (5% increase YoY). Their most-viewed series was Squid Game S2 (87M views) despite premiering only 6 days before year-end.

On Sunday, the Motion Picture Sound Editors announced the winners of the Mpse Golden Reel Awards, and four of the five Oscar nominees for Best Sound came away victorious: Dune: Part Two, Emilia Pérez, Wicked, and The Wild Robot. The fifth Oscar nominee, A Complete Unknown, had two Golden Reel nominations, but didn't win.

The leak has seen photos of the upcoming season, other visual assets, and new details being released.
Much like last year’s leaks, we will not share or distribute copyrighted material in this article or on our social media. Netflix has started pursuing legal action against the original leaker and filing DMCA takedowns on anyone caught sharing leaked copyrighted materials.
These leaks are very different from last year’s, which stemmed from the localization company Iyuno (who no longer lists themselves as a verified Netflix Partner), which had a vulnerability that allowed someone to create an account and raise their privileges to access otherwise locked-down video assets. We're living in a golden age of video game adaptations. Rather than cheap cash grabs with terrible visuals, video games are getting blockbuster adaptations on both the big and small screen. Not only that, but we've seen plenty of recent video game movies and TV shows earn tremendous praise from both critics and audiences, even earning awards.
Indeed, we are far removed from the so-called video game curse and adaptations flopping so hard they put their studios out of business. Video games are quickly becoming the new comic books, the source of many high-profile projects with notable talent attached both behind and in front of the camera, making it is easier than ever to get excited about a new adaptation, because the batting average has increased significantly.

While Arcane Season 3 will not be happening on Netflix there is still hope for the story to continue in future spin-offs.
The animated series was Riot Games' first foray into the world of television, with Arcane expanding the stories of League of Legends' iconic champions. Partnering with French animation studio, Fortiche, Arcane became a hit on Netflix with overwhelmingly positive reviews and a cutting-edge animation style.
Unfortunately, it was short-lived with Arcane wrapping its story after only two seasons. However, the producers of Arcane have been clear about their plans to create more stories in the same world.

It is a known fact that Castlevania stands as one of the visually stunning vampire series produced by Netflix. From its themes to its characters, it made a mark in the gothic genre. But what carried it wasn’t simply the animation and storytelling but a move that eventually worked in its favor.

What could be more enticing than a game of Clue set in the elusive White House? The premise for the latest murder mystery from Netflix is simple: 132 rooms, 157 suspects, one dead body, and one eccentric detective. From producer Shonda Rhimes comes an eight-episode comedic murder mystery series starring Orange is the New Black's Uzo Aduba along with Marvel favorites Randall Park and Giancarlo Esposito. In preparation for the March 20 release, Netflix has released the trailer for The Residence, and it looks like a good old-fashioned whodunnit.
Home of the modern murder mystery Knives Out, which arguably brought the genre back to the mainstream, Netflix is expanding its mystery portfolio with the upcoming miniseries based on the novel The Residence: Inside the Private World of the White House by Kate Andersen Brower. The comedic mystery thriller is produced by TV dynamo Rhimes, who has made more hit shows than one person can count.

Tatsuki Fujimoto’s Look Back anime film grabbed quite a few eyeballs. It received praise from both Japanese and international audiences, which might have been the boost that Chainsaw Man needed for its upcoming film.
Along with a promising plot, the new film is being animated by Mappa, a name that already ensures awesome animation quality and style. If season 1 of Chainsaw Man is anything to go by, the Reze arc movie will shake up the anime world and help Tatsuki Fujimoto reach greater heights.

Today marks the release of Ambessa: Chosen of the Wolf, the new tie-in novel for Riot's hit League of Legends television show Arcane. If you loved Arcane as much as I did, you're probably pretty excited for this book; and if you're not, you should be. I've had a chance to read Ambessa: Chosen of the Wolf and consider it a "must-read for fans of Arcane." It's filled with important bits of lore and backstory for the Noxian warlord Ambessa Merdada, her daughter Mel, and the rest of their family. By the end of the book, you have a much clearer picture of who these characters are and how they became estranged by the start of Arcane.
Of course, none of that backstory would matter without a great writer penning it, and fortunately Chosen of the Wolf has an excellent one: C.L. Clark, the author behind the Magic...

Since 2021, fans have not been rewarded with a new Battlefield game. The primary game gap is getting to be the longest in the franchise’s history, as more than three years have gone by since the controversial Battlefield 2042 launch. But that’s probably for a good cause.

The majority of reviews for this game were unfavorable because many people thought it was a “step back” for the franchise. Now that thorough playtests are beginning, EA appears committed to making amends with Battlefield 2025. Despite being a huge franchise in the gaming world, this series never shed some light on the silver screens, but that might become a reality in the near future.

The film industry has been adapting popular books for centuries and this trend continues to be strong today. However, not all adaptations were popular, either with the public or the authors, as many struggled to find an audience or maintain the heart of the novels.
Bestselling author Brandon Sanderson has also struggled with allowing his novels to be adapted. The author has had a series of popular epic fantasies, including the Mistborn or The Stormlight Archive series, but his novels have yet to be turned into movies or TV shows. Speaking to Polygon about the ongoing streaming environment, the author mentioned popular adaptations like The Wheel of Time and Shadow and Bone as examples of why that doesn't work out.

Hollywood has a history of struggling with video game adaptations, and It Takes Two appears to be the latest project stuck in limbo. When thinking of animation, anime might be the first thing that comes to mind. Whether it’s a visual or narrative masterpiece, the surge in anime’s popularity has taken the world by storm. It’s all thanks to the efforts of their animators. However, is Japanese anime the only beautiful medium?

While the more classic examples of Western animation may stem from Disney and Pixar films, many more studios do a brilliant job. Even so, it seems their reputation hasn’t been fixed, even though more unique projects have graced our eyes. Samuel Deats, however, reminds us otherwise.
Recently, Western animation has captivated its audience with its unique art style and approaches. It’s hardly realistic to say it’s declining in the 2000s when we have amazing franchises like Netflix’s Castlevania, the Spider-Verse franchise, Arcane, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and many more.

Back when Netflix announced that Arcane Season 2 would be the series' last, fans were gutted because it felt like Vi and Jinx's story was only beginning. We had a while to accept that the end was coming, but apparently, everyone forgot to tell series star Ella Purnell (who voiced Jinx) about the show coming to an end. During a panel at MegaCon Orlando, first reported by ScreenRant, the actor revealed that she was only told that there would be no Season 3 of Arcane until very late into her process of making Season 2.

Fallout, the Prime Video show based on the game series of the same name, is in production on its second season with stars Walton Goggins and Ella Purnell to return as the Ghoul and Lucy. After last season revealed that Lucy’s father Hank (Kyle MacLachlan) was revealed to be working for Vault-Tec and that the Ghoul's family is alive, the two set off in hot pursuit to a fan favorite location, New Vegas, with some set locations already revealed for the Season 2 setting.
Fallout shows the gritty, wild-west-like post-apocalyptic world where 1950s society meets alternate historyin a mash-up of genres. There are high expectations for the second season of the show, understandable given the popularity of the games, and Goggins' latest progress update on Season 2 assures fans that the show will be matching those expectations.

Ella Purnellwas a guest at Mega Con Orlando this weekend, where the actor was part of a panel that discussed her roles in shows such as Arcane, Yellowjackets, Sweetpea, and, of course, Fallout, in which she plays Vault Dweller Lucy. When Fallout Season 1 premiered on Amazon Prime Video in April 2024, newcomers and veteran fans welcomed the live-action adaptation of the nuclear world with open arms. Created by Graham Wagner and Geneva Robertson-Dworet and executive produced by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, the eight-episode first season received rave reviews from audiences and critics.
The video game adaptation managed to remain faithful to the source material of the video games both in its thematic elements and in its impressive production design while also not alienating those unfamiliar with the games it's based on. After the exciting conclusion of the first season, Fallout is set to return for a second season at an unspecified date.

DreamWorks Animation’s “The Wild Robot” swept the 50th Annie Awards on Saturday, winning nine major awards and solidifying its position as a frontrunner in this year’s animation race. The film’s remarkable performance at UCLA’s Royce Hall was briefly interrupted by an unexpected fire alarm but continued without further incident.

We have an official front-runner for the Animated Feature Oscar.
Universal’s The Wild Robot flat-out dominated the 52nd annual Annie Awards on Saturday night, won nine trophies: Best Direction for Chris Sanders — his fifth career Annie — FX, Character Animation, Character Design, Production Design, Editorial, Music and Voice Acting for Lupita Nyong’o as lead character Roz. She was not present at UCLA’s Royce Hall to accept.
See the full winners list spanning film, TV, video games and more below.
Since the Best Animated Feature Oscar category was launched in 2002, 14 of the 22 winners of the Annies’ top feature prize – and seven of the past 12 – went on to claim the golden statuette. But last year bucked the trend as the Academy Award went to Hayao Miyazaki’s The Boy and the Heron over Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, which dominated the 2024 Annies with seven nods.

DreamWorks Animation’s heartwarming “The Wild Robot” ran away with the most trophies at the 52nd annual Annie Awards with nine, including best feature. Netflix’s video game adaptation “Arcane” led the TV/Media categories with seven. But Saturday’s ceremony didn’t go off without a hitch, as a pair of fire alarms went off at the venue, UCLA’s, Royce Hall, including one that interrupted the ceremony.
A fire alarm went off about halfway through the ceremony, causing attendees to evacuate the theater and exit the building before returning to their seats and resuming the show. A second fire alarm went off during the pre-show reception, keeping hundreds of guests waiting on the grounds and unable to enter the event for roughly 45 minutes. “There was a sensor that was tripped and then had to act and get everybody out. Once the fire marshal said it was clear, we could go back in.

With K-dramas like "Squid Game" finding popularity on Netflix among international audiences, South Korean television programming is more prominent than ever worldwide. Video games have had more and more influence over the years. And with the success of adaptations like Fallout, Arcane, and The Last of Us (Tlou), games are getting more and more new players, especially among celebrities. One celebrity who has made his love for Naughty Dog’s games is Kanye West.

The singer recently admitted on Instagram that Tlou Part 2 was the best game ever made, and we’ve also spotted in a recent interview that he had 119 hours on Part 1. What’s weird is that despite having more than double the duration of the game in terms of playtime, he never finished it 100%.

In many ways, Hwang Dong-hyuk's Squid Game managed to top itself with its much anticipated second season. As great as the mega-hit first season was, there was a lot of concern about whether the show could build upon the stakes that were set up at the end of the season. The series more than capitalized on what it established and continued to embody the same stylistic energy of its initial run. Furthermore, the series left fans on an even larger cliffhanger than the first season. There was a great build-up to a choice by protagonist Seong and then a constant twist in each episode that effectively built tension toward a great ending.
The season's greatest strength was its inclusion of new characters. The series really heightened the themes it presented in the season before, which questioned what people might do for a chance to win life-changing money. The second...

What may also be confirmed is one of the locations set to feature in the upcoming season. According to recent set leaks, we are going to see Dinky the Dinosaur, a fan-favorite landmark from Fallout: New Vegas, and more from Bethesda’s 2010 title. But what other parts of New Vegas will we see? Lily Bowen better be in the game is all we’re saying.

Fallout Season 2 is already shaping up to be a love letter to New Vegas.

Kaitlyn Dever might not match Abby's bicep size in The Last of Us, but Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin believe her acting more than makes up for it.
In an exclusive profile with Entertainment Weekly, the showrunners discussed adapting Season 2 from the acclaimed yet controversial video game sequel The Last of Us Part II and what about its story needed to be changed for adaptation purposes. "There's not as much violent action moment to moment. It's more about the drama. I'm not saying there's no action here. It's just, again, different priorities and how you approach it," Druckmann said, feeling this ties into live-action Abby not being as jacked as her game counterpart.
