Kohei Horikoshi has officially confirmed that he is working on a brand-new manga. The announcement coincides with the release of the final volume of My Hero Academia.
In an interview published on Marvel’s website, Horikoshi revealed his plans for the future, stating, “I’m planning to start a new manga as soon as I possibly can.”
While the artist briefly considered collaborating with a separate writer, his editor encouraged him to handle both storytelling and art for the new series.
“I was thinking to committing myself to simply drawing my next project, and letting someone else write the story, but my editor advised me ‘It will be better if you do it all yourself.’ With that in mind, I’ve slowly started writing and drawing the thumbnails of my next manga. However, there are still several events left surrounding Mha, so for a while I’ll still be committed to supporting and promoting it.

It's no stretch to say that My Hero Academia's Minoru Mineta may be the most controversial character in the entire franchise, but Mineta's English voice actor seems to have had enough with the hate that the character receives. Turning to Instagram, Mineta's voice actor Brina Palencia defended the character as "just a child."
Mineta is an often controversial character for falling into the "pervert" archetype, an unfortunately common class of character in anime and manga. Mineta approaches most things with a sexual bent, often harassing the girls in Class 1-a (and even pro heroes) whom he finds attractive. While these moments are often played for laughs, many My Hero Academia fans, particularly in the West, tend to find the character unpalatable at best and downright offensive at worst. As Mineta's English voice actor, Palencia felt the need to address some of the vitriol aimed at the character in a social media post.

After almost 60 years of circulation, Shnen Jump has long since established itself as the biggest manga magazine in the world. Not only does it have the highest circulation of any other publication, but the manga published under its brand are consistently the most popular in the world, as are the anime adaptations they inevitably receive, even when they happen decades after the fact.
The Shnen Jump brand has become synonymous with manga, and its easy to see why. My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising, the second movie in the franchise, introduced fans to a new cast of unique and intriguing villains. One of the most memorable is Chimera, an individual with a Heteromorphic Quirk that gave him the appearance and abilities of various animals combined.
During his battle against the members of Class 1-a, Chimera made a comment to Shoji that brought attention to the discrimination Heteromorphs suffer in the series. My Hero Academia's most highly-regarded movie among overseas fans will soon become available internationally on Netflix. Fans will be able to watch the film, Heroes Rising, near the end of this month, with the movie releasing on Netflix starting Sept. 26.
This information was noted by @WhatsOnNetflix on X (formerly Twitter), a fan account for the streaming service. While the first film of the movie series, Two Heroes, has been available for streaming through Crunchyroll and Max, Heroes Rising has previously only been available for individual streaming purchase on Prime Video. Having first been released in theaters back in late 2019 in Japan, many feel this availability is more than overdue. However, with the recent conclusion of the My Hero Academia manga, now feels like a fitting time for fans to sit down and rewatch -- especially as the film's exciting climax was one of the original ideas for the manga's end.

Warning: Contains spoilers for My Hero Academia chapter #429.Not long after Shigaraki and All For One met their definitive end in My Hero Academia, the series teased the emergence of another mysterious villain set to cause problems for everyone. Whether it would lead to another fight or give Izuku and his friends another chance to help someone, the setup was still there for one final battle before the story ended.
There was plenty of setup for a fight with My Hero Academias mysterious new character, but that wasnt the case. After disappearing for multiple chapters, the mysterious new character finally returned in My Hero Academias penultimate chapter, and despite the build-up surrounding him, he was dealt with very quickly and without Izuku or any other major characters ever meeting him.

Kohei Horikoshi’s My Hero Academia has finally come to an end after a decade, and fans have not enjoyed the finale, primarily because of how subpar it was. This is not very reassuring, considering the fact that the mangaka had kept its audience hooked with a gripping storyline that took them on a rollercoaster of emotions.

During this epic journey, fans witnessed the growth of Izuku Midoriya, who went from being a quirkless boy in a superhero world to possessing the greatest Quirk and fulfilling his childhood dream of becoming the #1 Pro-Hero. However, fans have been criticizing the series finale for several factors, with one of the major concerns being character development.
Fans have gone to social media, criticizing one major and irreparable aspect of how Horikoshi-San has fumbled the show, which had the potential to go down as one of the best Shonen series ever made.

Overhaul's quirk is revealed to be the quirk factor of Shigaraki's Decay. Overhaul was in one of Dr. Kyudai Garaki's orphanages as a child. Chisaki's dark origin links to his experiments and twisted ethics.

Overhaul, the quirk of Kai Chisaki, the main villain in My Hero Academia's Shie Hassaikai arc, allows him to deconstruct and reconstruct anything he touches with his bare hands. This shares many similarities with Shigarakis Decay: both abilities are very powerful, activated directly with their hands, and can destroy anyone with a single touch.

Manga authors making important announcements and commenting on their ongoing series are a common sight at Jump Festa stages. At Jump Fest 2022, Kohei Horikoshi, the author of My Hero Academia manga caused a stir when he said that the manga will end in a year if “everything goes according to plan.”
Fast forward a year, Mha showed no signs of ending and at Jump Festa 2023 the author called himself a “sweet summer child” for completely skewing his prediction. This time, he clarified that the manga certainly was close to its climax but did not give a fixed timeline for the end.
Come Jump Festa 2024, My Hero Academia manga is still going strong. But Horikoshi reiterated what he said at the previous event – the manga’s climax is near. However, he added that there were still many things he wanted to draw beyond the battle that was currently ongoing in the manga.

My Hero Academia is one of the most popular new-gen anime. This anime came out at the height of superheroes' popularity, which was the perfect time. However, it wasn't just the genre that attracted people to this anime, but its fantastic storytelling and characters.
Mha is praised by most fans, but it isn't immune from criticism. No story is perfect; the characters in this series are just as prone to making stupid decisions that are clearly just for the plot. It's easy to let some of these dumb plotlines slide, but others are hard to ignore.

Fans love the Mha movies, especially My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising. However, fans were disappointed by the ending because of how silly it was. Midoriya transfers the Quirk One For All to Bakugo in order to defeat the villain Nine.

Warning: Spoilers for My Hero Academia Chapter 384 and the film My Hero Academia: Heroes: RisingThe latest chapter of My Hero Academia ended with a series of panels depicting people all over the world reacting to the final battle with All for One, and in doing so seemingly confirmed Bakugo's connection to One for All. The key is in some familiar faces depicted among those reacting, including some making their manga debut for the first time.
In chapter 384, two news helicopters report on the events of the battle, even though they don't have the support of a network. The reporters appear to be live-streaming the fight, and as word gets around, more and more people are tuning in to see exactly what's going on. Included among the faces are the foreign heroes Elecplant and Salaam, who appeared in the first and third movies respectively, Melissa Shield, also from the first movie,...

The anime industry only continues to grow larger and more mainstream with each passing year. It’s remarkable to see the growth, whether it’s through the wider prevalence and variety of dubbed content or the number of anime-based streaming services. Anime has alway been on the fringe of pop culture’s interests, but part of what makes it such an exciting form of art is that it doesn’t just entertain audiences in unpredictable ways, but it often excels with its inclusion of underrepresented groups. This has helped anime become such a universal product that doesn’t just speak to everyone, but specifically highlights those that may get overlooked elsewhere.

After selling off a half-dozen titles to Amazon and Netflix, “Love and Monsters” is one of the few Paramount Pictures titles to receive a 2020 theatrical release. It’s not much of a release — 387 theaters this weekend, for $255,000 — but its PVOD performance (at $19.99) may suggest why Paramount chose to hold on to it.
Scheduled pre-covid for theatrical release April 17, “Love and Monsters” (original title: “Monster Problems”) is no. 1 at both Apple TV and FandangoNow. Budgeted at $30 million, this adventure comedy led by”Maze Runner” and “Teen Wolf” star Dylan O’Brien, is not unlike “Zombieland” in its use of a young hero fighting off monsters in a dystopian society.
It’s the only new PVOD title this week, so it’s unsurprising to see its high placement at FandangoNow, which ranks its charts by revenue. Still, it beat out “Mulan,” which costs $29.99. More impressive: It leads at Apple TV, which ranks by number of transactions,...

New releases scarce in the week before ‘Tenet’ hits many markets.
UK-Ireland, opening Friday August 21
It is a quiet weekend for new releases in UK and Irish cinemas, with just two new titles on screens: Sam Quah’s Chinese crime thriller Sheep Without A Shepherd and Grégory Magne’s Perfumes.
Sheep Without A Shepherd reached number one at the Chinese box office following a December 2019 release, and was one of the last blockbuster hits in the country before Covid-19 forced the closure of venues in January. It was re-released on July 20, following the reopening of some cinemas.
