This is more a YA rom/com, which is neither very romantic nor at all funny. The script is dull, the plot a bit silly. Of course, it's been done before.
The only part I actually enjoyed was the interaction between the AI buildings... and there wasn't enough of that to really carry the movie.
The acting was mediocre, the script mediocre, the plot... well, the entire film, mediocre. It doesn't really draw in the audience. It's barely fit as a rainy Saturday popcorn movie. Barely B-flick.
It's not a terrible movie, but by no means a good one. Droll is the singular word that comes to mind. Some may find it cute, but the English voice-over spoils it as a family film. Some translation companies should be slapped stupid. Or slapped sane, however one chooses to look at it.
LANGUAGE NOTE: Parents should be warned the English voice-overs contain vulgarity not included in the original Thai version, nor in the English subtitles. I consider that both unnecessary and a betrayal of the original version. Such poor translation can't even be accounted to cultural differences. It was just gratuitous slop translation.
So instead of my standard 5-star "mediocre" rating, it gets 3 stars for raunchy translation.

My girlfriend made me watch it and it took some convincing as I'm really not a fan of romantic comedies.
Initially skeptical, I was positively surprised and ended up enjoying this genre mishmash. I liked the goofy humor spiked with some more edgy references while still being family friendly. Some CGI was surprisingly good, namely the robots and the music was very decent. The film was a bit quirky and a bit all over the place but overall very positively received and left us in good mood. Least but not last I found the cinematography refreshing, the Rainbow neon lighting was a nice touch and stands out in the ocean of the desaturated and depressing looks.

There are lots of good science fiction novels that address many of the questions that are brought up in this movie. The writer and director should have read a few of them. Some of this was Ok, the CGI was pretty good, and the storyline has some cute bits to it, but this still isn't really a great movie.
This was pretty cute, especially during the first half. Their were some great aesthetic qualities that I really loved with the anamorphism of the smart buildings. The parts with the villian got pretty campy and wouldn't appeal to everyone. But I am pretty good at suspending my disbelief and at rolling with a little camp or low production value or whatever. If you are good enough at those things and other watching skills that can be needed to explore cinema from all around the world you may enjoy this. I am glad I watched, for sure!
Only made for Mario & Baifern's long time fans who have been wanted to see them back together on screen. Stephan Zlotescu came up with silly love story (neither funny nor cute) and presented it over cyberpunk world. Interesting CGI kept me going to finish this.
