Like other Urban crime stories, The King of Paper Chashin had the usual Hip Hop Video dreams. This however was far from a straight to DVD Independent swap meet special. In these films you can usually tell how it will end about a quarter of the way through.. Not KOPC!! Not many films with relative no names (Sorry y'all) has such defined characters. My hood senses were going off and I was torn in some instances.
Carte Blanche became one of my favorite "Hood" Anti Heroes, Worth a night at the house with a lil company...You will be pleasantly entertained,
i watch the movie last night and I usually do not watch movies like this base on violence and drugs. This movie I caught about 30 minutes into it and it grip me until it went off. Some of the actors that support the main character of Carter was a little dry, his girlfriend, but every one else was great. I told my husband about this movie and I will buy it. The main character his attitude that grabs you in and the lady that was trying to help him get a deal, was played perfect and i can see how she got hook into the story. I am really looking forward to the next movie by this man. We need to support and i really think it gave us a look into the movie business. I hope he has a book base on this movie i would buy it
I received this movie in the mail a few years ago. At that time my company owned movie rental kiosk and I held a portion of responsibility for dictating which movies made it into the kiosk for rent. While I wasn't able to convince my executives that the movie should go into the kiosk - I became an instant fan of this movie and as I began to tell dang near everyone I knew about this flick, it seemed I was behind in times because folks already knew about it, loved it and classed it as a cult fav along with the likes of Belly, Get Rich or Die Trying and State Property to name a few. I look forward to more from the writers, directors and cast...overall - take a watch, you will not be disappointed. This is one you will find yourself watching over and over again.
I think this is a great movie! It was well written and executed. The movie played out well and the ending really surprised me. I really loved the score and the scenery was awesome. The storyline had me hooked from the beginning. I never saw that ending coming. The actors did a good job. This movie was not your ordinary urban flick, it had depth. The narration made you feel like you were involved. Like you probably knew someone going through the same thing. The clarity of the film was great. There were also a lot of funny moments in the film. I've watched it 3 times now and each time I caught something else that I didn't notice the first time I saw it. Way to go and I look forward to hearing more from this team.
The acting could've been a lot better. But they did the build the characters pretty well. For a independent film, this was better then 80% of Hollywood movies. I mean at least this movie you couldn't guess what was to happen next. I dig it. I think if they read did it with better actors, then a lot of you haters would be rating it a 8 or 9.
I think they could've um slowed the movie down a little bit to let certain parts of the move settle in. That would be the suspense that it was missing.
The rapping wasn't all that great but that was cool because it allowed you to focus on the personalities of the actors and their relationships.
Not bad. Bless
This was definitely a nice lil movie to find.
Great.
