The Critics Choice Association has revealed its nominees for the 2025 Critics Choice Real TV Awards: The Traitors, once again, led the nominations.

The show earned six nominations overall, including best competition series, best ensemble cast in an unscripted series and best show host for Alan Cumming. At last year’s awards show, The Traitors was the big winner, taking home four trophies.

Dancing with the Stars and Top Chef followed with four nominations each.

Peacock’s The Traitors connived its way to a leading six nominations for the seventh annual Critics Choice Real TV Awards, which were revealed this morning. ABC’s Dancing with the Stars and Bravo’s Top Chef are next with four apiece. See the list of all 19 categories below.

Winners will be revealed May 20 online at CriticsChoice.com.

Good news for fans of reality television. The Critics Choice Association has unveiled its nominees for the seventh annual Critics Choice Real TV Awards.

This year's nominations were paced by The Traitors, which received six overall bids, including Best Competition Series and Best Ensemble Cast. Host Alan Cumming was also recognized in the Male Star of the Year category, as was Dylan Efron. Gabby Windey received a nomination for Female Star of the Year. Last year, The Traitors won four awards from the Critics Choice Real TV Awards, including Best Competition Series.

Following closely behind The Traitors, with four nominations each, were Dancing With the Stars and Top Chef.

The Traitors follows up its four wins in 2024 with six 2025 Critics Choice Real TV Awards nominations. The popular reality competition series is nominated for Best Competition Series, Best Ensemble Cast in an Unscripted Series, Best Show Host (Alan Cumming), Female Star of the Year (Gabby Windey), and two Male Star of the Year nods.

CBS got lethal with cutting some favorite shows, but there are some renewals and even some new spinoffs coming. Read on to find out more about them.

The Cancellations Are Upsetting

People grow up watching their favorite series and shows, so cancellations are nearly always met with disapproval. However, amid six cancellations, there is at least some hope for TV addicts. The shocker was the cancellation of FBI: Most Wanted, FBI: International, and S.W.A.T. from Universal TV studios.

Others reported were Blue Bloods, Poppa’s House, and The Summit. Probably nobody will miss The Summit too much as it only ran for one season. However, Variety noted that there were some popular renewals.

Damon Wayans has reacted to the news of his show “Poppa’s House” being canceled by CBS, writing in a lengthy Instagram post that he’s “walking away with deep gratitude.”

Fans of Titus Welliver and his recent role in Bosch: Legacy believed they were about to find a replacement with a CBS spinoff of another popular crime drama, The Equalizer. However, amid a wave of cancelations at the network, it seems that the new series will not be moving ahead despite Welliver’s character, Hudson Reed, making his appearance in a backdoor pilot in the current series on The Equalizer over the weekend.

The spinoff would have paired Welliver’s Reed with Juani Feliz as Samantha Reed, Hudson’s daughter. Welliver’s character was described as “a former top CIA operative with a dark secret who is connected to Robyn McCall (Queen Latifah) by an old mentor.” Samantha Reed was “trained by her father to be a weapons expert, skilled martial artist and true chameleon all while hiding a mysterious past.”

The actors debuted in the Sunday, April 20, episode of The Equalizer Season 5 alongside Queen Latifah in what was reportedly being tested as a backdoor pilot. TV Insider has reached out to CBS for comment on the spinoff’s reported axing. The Equalizer is CBS’s last remaining series that has yet to be renewed or canceled as of Tuesday, April 22. Poppa’s House and The Summit were canceled on April 22, and The Neighborhood spinoff that was being explored has also been axed. The Bosch: Legacy series finale came out on April 17 on Prime Video. It's been a rough week for actor Titus Welliver. Just five days after Bosch: Legacy dropped its series finale on Prime Video, CBS has opted not to move forward with the actor's proposed The Equalizer spinoff.

Per Deadline, the decision not to proceed with the spinoff series comes two days after the backdoor pilot aired as the sixteenth episode of The Equalizer Season 5.Titled "Sins of the Father," the episode introduced audiences to Welliver's ex-CIA agent Elijah Reed and his daughter, Samantha Reed, played by Juani Feliz, with the latter reaching out to Queen Latifah's Robyn McCall to help her find her missing father. The untitled The Equalizer spinoff would have served as Welliver's next major show following the conclusion of Bosch: Legacy, which wrapped up the actor's decade-long tenure as fan-favorite detective Harry Bosch.

Per Deadline, CBS axed not just one, but two shows: Poppa's House and The Summit. The sitcom that comes from Damon Wayans Sr. and Damon Wayans Jr. premiered in October 2024 to positive reviews. However, that wasn't enough to keep it on the air. With a season finale set for release later this month, Poppa's House will end after 18 episodes.

Poppa's House was created by Wayans Sr. and Kevin Hench. The series starred Wayans Sr. and Damon Wayans Jr. as a father and son duo. Essence Atkins and Tetona Jackson also had main roles Dr. Ivy Reed, Poppa's new co-host, and Nina, respectively. Five years after Criminal Minds ended on the network, Matthew Gray Gubler is returning to CBS. CBS has given series orders to both Tim Meadows’ single-cam comedy “Dmv” and Matthew Gray Gubler’s drama “Einstein.”

Both projects had been previously announced as pilots in development at the network.

In workplace comedy “Dmv,” Meadows plays a former high school English teacher turned examiner, who wants nothing more than to get through the driving tests as quickly as possible. He stars alongside Harriett Dyer, who plays Colette, a big-hearted examiner who is “adorably neurotic” and “bad with boundaries,” but genuinely roots for the driving students to pass.

Molly Kearney is Barbara, the oversharing Dmv boss who believes she is part of the gang, and Alex Tarrant is the dreamy surfer boy Noa. CBS is adding to its roster of new series for the 2025-26 season, giving series orders to two pilots: a drama titled Einstein and a comedy called Dmv.

Einstein, from Monk creator Andy Breckman, stars Criminal Minds alum Matthew Gray Gubler as the title character, alongside Rosa Salazar. Dmv, a single-camera comedy set at a motor vehicle office, is led by Harriet Dyer and Tim Meadows. Both shows come from CBS Studios.

The two series orders are the first from CBS’ crop of development projects this season. They join fellow newcomers Sheriff Country, which the network ordered last year, and straight-to-series pickups Boston Blue and CIA. All three of the previous orders are offshoots of current or recently ended CBS shows — Fire Country, Blue Bloods and FBI, respectively.

Along with the series orders, CBS also announced that it has canceled its comedy Poppa’s House and competition show The Summit, both after a single season.

The studio reportedly paid in the region of $12.5m for the film, the only available title at the festival to earn near unanimous acclaim and create buzz in what has been a low-key Toronto for acquisitions.

On CBS' summer hit "Under the Dome," Rachelle Lefevre plays Julia, who, like many of the other characters she's played, is fearless.

Julia is a reporter, and like Lefevre's other recent TV roles as doctors, she is a strong, determined woman. This time, however, Lefevre didn't shadow a journalist to inform her character.

"Normally when I am playing a certain profession, I do spend time with cops and doctors," she tells Zap2it from Wilmington, N.C., where the show was shooting. "There is something about playing a journalist, as a solo mission, and it is something one can excel at or be bad at. I was less interested in the skill and more interested in what kind of person becomes a journalist."

Julia is a doctor's wife, or as the audience knows from the show's beginning, a doctor's widow, so Julia would have more money than most print reporters working on a small-town daily.

Today, the Canadian Academy revealed the nominees for the 25th Gemini Awards, the Canadian equivalent of the Emmy Awards. So without further ado, let's reveal those who have graced our land of television in fall 2009 and winter 2010.

Yesterday, the ceremony of the Writers Guild of Canada Awards was hosted by comedian Debra Digiovanni. During that night, the winners, who work either in the film or television industry, were revealed.

Dishing out the awards were special guest presenters including Yannick Bisson (Murdoch Mysteries), Kristin Booth (Crackie, Young People Fucking), Inga Cadranel (The Bridge, Rent-a-Goalie), Enrico Colantoni (Flashpoint), and screenwriters Mark Farrell (Corner Gas, Dan for Mayor), Michael McGowan (Saint Ralph, One Week), Jennifer Pertsch (6Teen, Total Drama Island), Christin Simms (Captain Flamingo, Dino Dan), Shelley Eriksen (ReGenesis) and Leila Basen & David Preston (Heartland).

The Writers Guild of Canada (Wgc) just announced the finalists for the Wgc Screenwriting Awards. Those finalists come from the industry of television, filmmaking and web series. Besides, comedian Debra Digiovanni will host the 14th Annual Wgc Screenwriting Awards on April 19, 2010.

Born in Montreal, Twilight and The Twilight Saga: New Moon star Rachelle Lefevre has apparently made it a self-mission to keep to her Canadian roots, professionally. According to an article by the Canadian Press, Lefevre has been quoted to state that when she moved to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career, she made a promise to herself that she would return to a Canadian film set at least once a year. The Canadian Press say that she has, so far, been successful in that endeavor between her work on The Summit...

The filming of "The Twilight Saga's New Moon" allegedly has been started. LaineyGossip has recently come up with a story suggesting that Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart, who return to this "Twilight" sequel as Jacob Black and Bella Swan, were spotted shooting in Tofino, British Columbia on Thursday, March 19.

The two reportedly were joined by fellow co-star Rachelle Lefevre, who portrays villainous Victoria. Since the suggested shooting was taking place around South Beach and the Wickaninnish Inn, it was assumed that the principal photography began with the infamous Bella cliff-diving in La Push scene. Nonetheless, confirmations on either the shooting start or the scenes filmed are yet to be shared.
