Inspiring story of overcoming childhood trauma

This is a great film letting you into the life of its author. It focusses on the experience of the central character and the journey she has to go on. I had a similar upbringing and I understand the intensity of living a life of religious fervour. There were a lot of potential avenues it could have gone down, and it gave enough background info on the church to understand it, but not too much as too lose the central thread. Watching the now-adult child confront her parents about the consequences of their actions was very raw and touching.
