Heartfelt Indie Debut

I started watching a little unsure of what I was getting into. I'm not a punk rock fan, and the sound editing in the first scene was a little clunky.

Then it got good!

This is a very genuine, authentic film about young people with big dreams, small talent, and the endearing awkwardness of teens, rather than the manufactured drama and 30-year-old actors of most "High School Musical" style films.

The film keeps gets better as it goes, with genuine tension, compelling romance, and characters who feel like old friends.

Comedy-wise, I got a few genuine laughs. This is not a jokey film, but an honest and uncensored good time. It showed up as an 18-plus rating (for language), but that only seemed to be the lyrics in the background music. I'd rate it more PG-13, and a perfect film for that age group.

Story: 10/10 Acting: 8/10 (some great performances, especially Ruby and Elmo) Production: 7/10 (some mic quality issues, but nothing distracting. Solid indie film)
