Amir is dead, his friends and family are talking about him. Within their stories we figure out the personality of Amir and the connections between Amir and them.

Che kasi Amir ra kusht? profits the presence of lots of superstars on the stage and backstage. The script is fabulous and duologue's are like poetry. This movie is completely Quentin Tarantino style. Usage of color, photography, soundtrack, its episodic storyline, the Mexican position and the talkative characters all have Q.T label on it. There is a sequence that Dr Motlagh is talking on the phone with somebody and the camera is under his desk like the shots that Tarantino take from inside of car trunk's, instead of one composed soundtrack we hear selection of pre written songs. This is the exact method that Tarantino uses in all of his movies. The relations between Amir - Ziba – Hamid is like a Mexican situation ( the situation that two people are involved and third one arrives and makes everything complicated ) that is Tarantino's trademark. This movie is a Tarantino influenced movie however not a copy of Tarantino movies. The director uses the elements of Tarantino cinema in a very effective and advantageous way. Che kasi Amir ra kusht? Has something that is very rare and usage of this element shows that how creative and courageous Mr. Karampour was: MONOLOGUES. The entire movie is monologues and none of actors meet each others. This couldn't be done unless the actors have the ability to carry this burden. Maybe this is the reason that there are eight great actors in this movie. Most of them are perfect but Khusru Shakibaee is astonishing. He showed one of his best performances in his carrier here. In the formalistic view this movie is a very new experience, an avant garde movie and very joyful. However its content isn't as strong as its form. It's about that are people who are around us really love us or it's just our position that is important to them? Tough the movie delivers the message to simple, and kinda dictates it. The moral gist lies in the last chapter but last chapter is the weakest chapter of movie and seems to be an Achilles heel for movie.

    With Friends Like These, ...

Who Killed Amir? is a something of a curiosity item; a succès d'estime boasting the creme of the Iranian actors but somehow missing its mark, specially with the general public. It consists of well known Iranian actors and actresses speaking monologues into the camera, describing why they loved Amir and why they all wanted to kill him! These characters represent Amir's wife, mistress, best friend, boss, therapist, step daughter, etc. We learn more about these people, and their idea of love and friendship, than about Amir. In effect we get to see and know a microcosm of Iranian society. The film works to a degree because of the fine acting and the quality of the monologues. But somehow one feels that it would have worked better as play.
