    Interesting concept

This movie is pretty middle of the road for me. It wasn't exceptional, but it wasn't bad by any means. I enjoyed it, actually. When I read the description, I thought "oh goodness, please don't tell me this will have a Jumanji feel..." it does not have that! It's definitely similar in the fact that it's a board game. But that's where the similarities end. The acting is decent, I especially liked Annie's performance. This will be a very creepy movie is you're under 17, but otherwise, it's not much of a spook. Give it a shot, you may like it.

Shouldn't have watched alone in the dark

I'm surprised by the negative internet reviews. I binge horror movies periodically, October being an obvious time to do so. I watched this alone last night and legitimately ran back to my bed feeling as if something was on my heels (Prankster) after using the bathroom. In general, the Into The Dark series has been more fun than creepy but this one, with the help of Blumhouse, left an after effect. Anytime a horror flick can do that, I'd say it's a good one.

Better than some of the others

Probably my highest rating for an into the dark episode. They were on the right track but totally screwed the ending. If Annie was so set on rules then she would have lost. She broke the rules and therefore she should have been punished. Totally hated the ending

    Alright Ensemble Cast Movie

Hulu opened up the second season of its Into The Dark series with this middle of the road film. The movies in this series are not consistent in terms of quality. Uncanny Annie may not be anywhere near the top of the series, but it also isn't at the bottom.

Uncanny Annie will not scare you. It is not a scary movie at all. However, it does make good use of the ensemble cast in ways I was surprised by. It is a predictable little movie, but you watch it for the entertainment if anything. It makes for a passable movie for Halloween, especially if you're doing the October Challenge and need another film to fill up a spot.

    Six stars out of ten.

The kill scenes are just okay but the movie is better than average and a worthwhile addition to the genr

Uncanny Annie (2019) is another Into the Dark picture available for free on Hulu. The storyline focuses on a possessed board game that once you start playing you have to follow the rules closely, or Uncanny Annie, the demon possessing the game will make you pay. This movie is directed by Paul Davis (Solo: A Star Wars Movie) and stars Adelaide Kane (Teen Wolf), Georgie Flores (Famous in Love), Paige McGhee (Into the Darkness) and Dylan Arnold (Halloween, 2018). The storyline for this picture is entertaining and fun to watch unfold, like a horror movie version of Jumanji. The characters are worth following and the holistic storyline comes together well. Overall the kill scenes are just okay but the movie is better than average and a worthwhile addition to the genre. I'd give this a 6-6.5/10.

When Peter moves the shirts in the upstairs closet, there is a stuffed Pooka doll on the shelf behind the shirts. "Pooka" is another one of Blumhouse and Hulu's "Into the Dark" features.
