    Inspirational

Absolutely brilliant, moving and inspirational. Probably now the greatest rugby movie ever made, pushing Invictus into second place IMHO. Masterful portrayal of Eddie Jones & Michael Leitch in particular. The real Eddie & Michael and other Japan Rugby personalities pop up throughout the movie to add extra authenticity and poignancy in relation to the match story and their own personal journeys.

    Outstanding Film

What can you say that is bad about this film to put it simply nothing. It's a film not just for rugby or sports fans but for anyone who wants to watch a David versus Goliath battle years in the making. The casting of the roles is brilliant at times you dont know where Temuera Morrison ends and Eddie Jones begins. The fact the end of the film is just the end of a chapter of the Japanese Rugby team who's adventure just grew in the 4 years after the film not just to host the world cup in 2019 but cement theee place in rugby fans hearts. It's a film that you will want to watch again and again

Terrific and ..... well .... inspirational!!

I'm not a big rugby fan and I loved it. The word, "inspirational" is getting thrown around here in the reviews, but there's a reason for that! It's a David and Goliath story for sure, but it's not done in a hackneyed way. This is no Bad News Bears story, or even some predictable "plucky little guys slay monster" story. The movie revolves around a hard-nosed coach who know how to push his team to their limits and exploit their own strengths and the weaknesses of their opponents. Even knowing the end result, I was still on the edge of my seat throughout the climactic game at the end. I loved getting to see some of the real players and participants. I'm looking forward to watching it again.

I'm not a rugby fan but this is a story to inspirer all

As a kiwi I knew who Eddie Jones is and to be fair wasn't a big fan from seeing him in the news over the years. This doco changed my mind what a great leader and coach. You don't have to be into rugby to enjoy this ride/movie. I found it interesting and inspirational. Temuera Morrison did a good job on playing Eddie Jones.

    Missed a great deal

I enjoyed it but felt it didn't do the subject justice. The game of the movie title was squeezed in last few minutes but didnt in any way capture the sense of underdog and massive support Japan won. I watched that game and remember the excitement of watching an historic win against all odds. How did this happen and was it just hard work and focus. I think there is more to it and Eddie is far from the one dimensional and humourless operator presented here.

But even badly told its an interesting story and fascinating how an individual can inspire performance. Glad it got made even if not all it could have been. Maybe have another go with a movie of Eddie being picked for the england coach and what he had to contend with on and off the field. The Japan job may have been a training run for the politics of England and basket case he inherited.
